Rivaldo taking a fall cuz turkish guy "kicked" a ball at him...and rivaldo BS gets red card for that dude from the dumb ref.

I remember watching it all go down live and thinking that is such horseshit...wtf is this.

Damn, Turks have much reason to have vendetta against Brazil long term for that alone lol.

But the Brazil hubris taken down like that by Germans.... its German hubris that grows....thats a tough button for Turks to press too lol.

I think when it comes to the big teams and the big tournaments, its mostly corruption that decides who ultimately wins the tournament.

Even in the last euro's Turkiye knocks out austria in the round of 16, winning 2 - 1. Turkiye's best player merish demiral a defender who scored both goals that game throws the greywolf salute out. Something that represents the entire Turkic world, not just Turkiye. They use it as an excuse to get him banned. Turkiye then loses the QF against the dutch 2-1. Even some of those challanges the dutch did should have been straight reds.

So the reality when it comes to the world cup, they've already decided which of the big teams will win it. Every other team will only be allowed to make it so far. So basically 95% of the world cup teams playing will not be allowed to win it.

Another example of the two faced attitude. The entire norway team poses as viking, despite the vikings generally being accepted as brutal and violent. Then most far right racist groups cling to nordic/viking imagery. Some of the recent terrorist attacks on Muslims from the Christchurch shooting to others used viking/nordic symbolism to justify the racial attack.

No bans for them. Now me personally wouldn't take any offense over such a thing, but it shows you the two faced nature going on.

Another example was the french wanting to ban Turkiye from UEFA because the team saluting in the corner after scoring against them.

when they salute though its all good.

No much point to politicise The Competition, it was always like that but usually the best or one of the best teams always wins.
I doubt mental set up of Turkish players but there is some very serious talent in the midfield.
Guler , Yildiz and Canhanoglu . That is one of top midfields. But let's see.
Or more precisely, you will see , I won't.

Precisely. No need to politicize. That’s why we call it beautiful game and that’s why love it regardless of nationality, ethnicity, race. We just love this beautiful game.

However, to be fair, it’s the FIFA and in Melih Demiral’s case UEFA are the ones opening the flood gates of politics.
When you claim you adhere to strict neutrality to keep football clean by banning some gestures, signs, etc and yet letting some others slip by or sometimes even salute them as cultural uniqueness (such as New Zealand’s Haka dance), you set your standards to double, hence to political grounds. It’s Not the participating nations, fans.

FIFA is both the regulating and the governing independent body of football around the world.
Just stick to your strict neutrality. They can’t just hand down punishments and bans arbitrarily as they please.
Do it or don’t do it and relieve your governing duty to local federations.

To bring back to football, probably for me the first real interesting tie will be morroco vs brazil. Brazil one of the favs vs a top tier team. But if im honest the times these games are being played over here in the uk is a problem.

Well, football is tribal game, you can't keep politics out of it completely.
I am always hoping for some kind of failure for Serbs and Croats.
But what really bothers me is that, not just football but any sport sports anymore .
Imagine, in mid and early 80s when heavy snow falls, we used to run in the pitch to flatten the snow for a game Vs Red Star or Dinamo Zagreb?
Now we have the Vikings from Peru blasting Vuvuzelas???https://youtube.com/shorts/JD21vNpSI8M?si=4cvlfVfuYuPfiPQa
Here we have Serge Blanco , the greatest full back giving it to an Englishman, then Philippe Sella a capitan hammering Loverboy Will Carling , Lady Diana probably cried 3 day.
Second French running onto the pitch Eric Champ The Great Chicolatier , always feeding someone during the match with the sweets.
Now " I am Olympic champion in women break dance".
Iny nature I am competitive, I believe in Passley words" Football isn't about life and death, it is much more important than that"
Or Pablo Neruda " Man can change religion, country, family and political opinion but never football club"
I don't know, I don't want to act as someone who kills the fun but when there is no a trace of what I believe is sport then good buyer

Absolutely. 👍
Everybodys got a beef with somebody else, everybody needs a closure of yester year, everybody’s got a new page to open with someone else.
There’s no ending to feuds, vendettas, revengism unless FIFA upholds unbiased neutrality.

I checked Aussie team. Their center back trio are classic towering giants.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Montella throws Deniz Gül in around their box just to return headers back (not necessarily win aerial challenges) down to our shorter, agile players to run through their spaces.
Lets wait and see what happens.

They play kick and go,old english style which shouldnt be a problem.
Expect shots from a distance.
Should be an easy win for us,probably 2-0.

Guler and Canhanoglu should control posesesion and they will. 3 -1 for Turkiye.
I have always felt that is mentality and psychology that limits Turks teams in general.
This team plus Soyuncu , Ferdi , Akturkoglu should go far on paper.
Let's see the mentality. That's what always worries me with Turkiye and yes, this new goalie looks good. Previous one was so-so at best.

Ferdi is good Aktürkoglu is ok but Söyüncü is the reason we lost many times,he is the worst.
I dont know why Montella brought him to the WC.
