Australia is a sporting nation. They invest a lot of money and effort into sport. Football was never a strong point though.
For its population Australia punches weight above its weight and it's because there's a huge emphasis on sports here.
Unfortunately despite Türkiye being a huge talent pool for footballer players and the general population being football fanatics, somehow we've completely lost the magic we had in prior decades, despite arguably having the best team yet in terms of individual players.
Mismanagement? Not enough money or effort being invested? I don't know but certainly there's something wrong.
For such a huge footballing nation. We historically produced very little top class players in Turkiye
Arda Guler, Zeki Celik, Merih Demiral, just three I can think of thats decent and can do well in European top teams.
i like Yunus Akgun, Baris Yilmaz, but no one can tell me they're top-tier at all. But I least like Yunus as a RW.Kerem is good too I suppose.
We rely too much on Germany, Holland it seems, heck Austria too for Mert Muldur.
And for me the reason is simple, importing too many foreign average players. Victor Osimhen aside, none should be in Turkiye taking place of our kids to play.
if we brought in genuine top players in their prime thats fine, but we don't.
