You do understand that a Germany could transform into a military power in less time than it’ll take Turkey to build MMU right ?

But Germany sees no need for that since they understand economy rules.

Like there are people who need to flaunt themselves on social media and there are those who have rather empty profiles too. People who are at peace with themselves have no need to flaunt status or such. We say, Sisi is an insecure little man, so he holds big military parades. But the same applies to our president.

Besides you can tell how people are from what their concern is. Are you worrying over the well being of your people or are you more into projecting an image despite the situation.

No need for it you are wrong its due to ww2 and its aftermath.

The Germans got beaten down to submission.

İ wish Turkey would have Japanese navy fleet at least. Poor the Japanese navy need to be stronger.

Japan is restricted ever since ww2 even with technology I dont see Japan challenging China any time soon.

Instead of bad mouthing your country accept its strengths and weaknessses.

You had better attack on whom said banana republic about Türkiye. People keep silence good to see.

Edit:

Someone achieved their goals with these provocative insults.

dozens of messages containing information about the current state of Turkey's destroyed economy has been left behind.

The low national income, low minimum wage, unemployment rates, poverty level, number of businesses that went bankrupt, the number of enforcement proceedings up to 25 million, 225 percent food inflation in the last ten years, being inflation champions among OECD countries all information have been covered purposely.

You were literally badmouthing Turkiye too how is his statements any different from his?

I literally rank Turkiye above Germany and Japan when it comes to political and military means.

You literally said the Turkish navy is poor while saying Japan is better.

Germany and Japan have been restricted due to historical reasons and it will take decades for them to rebuild and catch up.

For once I literally put Turkey above while you have people on this same thread putting their own country down including you.

Have some self respect.

No, you had a dysfunctional political system and that is why a military deep state had to take control from behind the scenes to prevent Turkey from disintegrating. Only after the historically unprecedented popular support for the AKP in the history of the Turkish republic, did the military slowly give up its political power and Turkish politics became much more effectual. And this process has been consolidated in the constitutional change of 2017.

Read thomas hobbes leviathan.

The Turkish military is the keeper of stability.

Without it our state could easily be torn apart by Islamist, Communists, Kurdish separatists or within.

Turks are an army with a state. Have always been.

People can argue the positives and negatives of it. I dont look into it because of history it forms who we are.

Our mentality is all about fighting and suriving another day. Our ancestors never had the luxuries of surplus food they had to fight and struggle for it.

Turkic history is just one big history of fighting and surviving. Thats why they have made their mark. People can look down on it we dont care we aint in this world to please anybody.

i did not shut because of what you said, i just appreciate more some objective achievements in last 20 years and have some confidence that other problems present will be solved gradually without needless drama.

No matter how bad Germany was defeated in WWII it manages to still be an economic, technological and industrial power that Turkey can’t even dream of to be. It’s Turkey that begs for German investments and tourists and markets and military tech and not the other way around... who cares that we can produce some cheap ass drones and munitions to shoot at mountain/desert rats with when half of Turkey will gladly move to Germany tomorrow if it has the chance?

O yeah, but their Military is “worse” than Turkey’s. Let’s forget that if Germany wants it has the capabilities to turn into a nightmare for everyone in the span of a few years. Why do they even need a strong Military and to be involved in foreign conflicts abroad? Germany is surrounded by allies and friendly countries that it has no disputes with. They control the EU with their diplomacy and economy and that is more than enough for them.

You guys mistake the shouting of “heeeeyyyy Trump, hey Israel, who are you?!” for some sign of an independent foreign policy or something when the American President crashes the Lira with two Tweets. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I haven't read every single post in the past few pages yet but I hope you guys have been following the rules. Don't let this debate turn into an argument 😊

As for my ideas on what has been discussed, Germany has been managing their economy much better than we have. Erdoğan's palace was also a massive waste of money. A much smaller, modern complex would have sufficed. It is one of countless factors which has ravaged our economy.

Germany's military has been neglected, there is no doubt that Turkey is ahead on that front. Also, though Germany is ahead in technology, Turkey is bridging the gap rapidly. In terms of defence industry, we do currently have major advantages over the Germans, except for in engine tech.

Let's not forget that this isn't the 1930s. Military product's such as fighter aircraft are much more complex than they were back then. Back in those times you could design and produce a cutting edge aircraft in a year or so. Nowadays there is so much that needs to be put together in order to create a new aircraft from scratch. The software alone probably takes years to write. Yes Germany is a highly educated and technologically advanced nation, however they cannot suddenly become a superpower. It takes decades to build a strong military in today's world.

Overall I am very happy with our military and defence industry. However corrupt politicians have destroyed our economy.

Thats why Germany is kept down and it took two world wars. Same for Japan.

Italy escaped regardless of them switching sides it worked.

Japan and Germany are literally kept down intentionally. Decades of military they lost because of the USA and its neighbours. Germans are still ashamed to be German whatever nationalism and patriotism they show automatically makes them seen as Nazis.

Honestly Turkey could have the same fate due to Sevres if not much worse because we were not a industrialised society also having our lands and peoples stripped away.

There is a reason why countries are kept down to eliminate competition also not allow them to come back to their former status.

Japan is coming back because the USA now sees it works to have strong Japan to contain China.

As I said before peace can also make a country drowsy and sleepy. How many of the Germans and Japanese have the stomach to fight.

Fighting these mountain rats also isis, aq rats give us the experience to test new weapons also battle harden the army.

Whatever battle and war that the Turks fight adds to experience. Turkiye is in a shitty geographical position. The position of the geography is a blessing while it is also a curse.

I know what you mean to be honest but sometimes the person within me is like F the world.

Give me that palace honestly I would make sexy ass Russian girls dance infront of me.

While the world condemns me for it. I would emulate Babur and Timur.

What about" Before Erdoğan Türkiye was Banana Republic?"
Did someone say this?

My answer to this is that if Turkey was a banana republic before Erdoğan then how did it capture northern Cyprus? Or how did it make both Syria and Greece buckle after threatening war?

In the period before Erdoğan, Turkey was still in the process of building up its defence industry. It takes decades to create a strong defence industry. By the 90s we were producing Kobra's and J-600Ts. Erdoğan has been ruling for the past 20 years, it's only natural that the defence industry has exponentially expanded under his rule as it has passed major milestones and will continue to. This is simply a logical progression. Let's not forget that TFX, Altay, Atak and other major projects have been in the pipeline since the 90s. But we didn't have the expertise to create them back then.

We certainly weren't a banana republic in the 70s. 80s or 90s. On the contrary, we did very well against a combined PKK and Islamist extremist threat which could've torn us apart. At the same time, we laid the foundations for a highly successful defence industry.

Honestly people tend to overuse the word banana republic.

You have people saying before Erdogan that Turkey was perfect while after him it became a banana republic.

While the other side says well Turkey was nothing without Erdogan.

I dont buy either side because a nation evolves with its strengths and weaknesses. Im also against romanticisation of the past. We are better off moving forward rather than just looking back at the past.

I know I nostalgia the past a lot with comments regardless of it is serious or not. Sometimes you just have to say cant our leaders make some sexy european girls dance in front of us 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Two things I'm going to say before I stop commenting on this topic to not derail it:

- Germany chooses not to upgrade their military, the Americans actually asked them numerous times to invest more. The French offered Nuclear Weapons and Germany declined. Understand this: Germany could transform their military into whatever it was during WW2 and worse if it wanted to. But it chooses not to, because they have no enemies. Because peace benefits Germany. They are making a killing in business. And please trust my words over those of someone living in Bosnia or Australia, because I live here.

- I cant comprehend how someone can defend these levels of wastefulness and corruption and frankly speaking I cant respect a person that thinks like that.

i did say that and firmly stand beside that statement, sorry state that had 5 military coups in couple of decades can not be described other then that. beside that
compare your influence in the world at time with today projection and good vibes around the globe. bright moments in past like cyprus operation do not change overall weakness and irrelevance on world stage, today you are respected or hated around the globe, clear sign of increasing relevance.

Germany has the Nazi war machine to thank for where it is today. The know how passed down from that era (and the other lessons learnt) is priceless and the Americans and Russians can vouch for that so take it easy with the Turkey comparisons. But, I agree that Tayyip splurging on opulent palaces when his nation of 80M+ can barely string together a sh!tty 700B GDP is an insult to the taxpayers of Turkey and a misrepresentation of Turkey's wealth and by extension power to the gullible masses. personally I thought that cankaya needed an upgrade but not something like aksaray. Also, Aksarary is a barn compared to many of the grand imperial palaces of Europe so if Tayyip was trying to compete with those he failed. Turkeys palatial pride-and-joys are all in Istanbul an they are truly something to be proud about.
