Our planners are pretty proactive when it comes to their own security ... example SPG
SPG is only tasked for the protection of PM and his immediate family members. Also, their budget is relatively less compared to our counterparts of comparable economies. While our generals, admirals and marshalls use Maruti Suzuki Ciaz which is a mere Rs.10L car as their official vehicle, their pakistani counterparts use Land Cruisers and Mercs costing around Rs.1cr

I think it not wise to compare the Indian generals with Pakistani generals (luxury wise )

Very interesting. Looks like some kind of cooperation is going on between India and Central Asian countries on these matters. Not so long ago Uzbekistan also held a joint military exercise with Indian counterparts but I don't know if SOF or regular infantry. Indian SOF experience can definitely contribute to the development of its Central Asian counterparts and also help them know new terrain, environment and combat tested tips from most probably a totally different SOF culture.

Indo-Uzbek joint exercises named DUSTLIK-II were not of the special forces but with regular troops. A 45-member Uzbek contingent and an equal number of Indian Army personnel from the Rezang La Regiment and the Kharga Warriors of 2 Corps took part in the exercise.

Infact, Uzbek troops were also handed over our newly acquired Sig-716s during the exercises

Yeah, India's cooperation with CAR republics will only intensify as time goes one, esp with US planned withdrawal from Afghanistan (however that ends up looking). India is also going to increase economic cooperation as well, these countries have much to offer there as they get connected logistically over time.

BTW I notice all former soviet republics paratroopers still have the VDV striped vest in their uniform....keeping the old legacy going.
