We were all hoping for something else....but it was not to be. I feel very gutted about it.

My deepest condolences to the families of the KRI Nanggala, fellow servicemen of Indonesian Navy and Military....and grieving Indonesian nation.

May the departed warriors have fair winds eternally in the highest realm. May the highest one ease the pain of those they left behind....till all are reunited.

A big thank you to all involved in the search and rescue attempt.

now start the hardest phase of the operation, the search / recovery of the sub and remain of those sailor so that they can get proper burial.

a proper burial for people served at the sea, is the sea itself.
better if their site is located-mapped and left as is.
buried underground they will be forgotten a few decades later, left in where they sunk they will be remembered to eternity.

Let's locate where all debris come from:

- torpedo tube straighteners: torpedo room, front section.
- pipe insulator: could be from anywhere.
- periscope lubricant: conning tower, right above command room, middle section.
- prayer mats: crew's living quarters (?)
- heat insulator foam: engine room (?), rear section
- oil: oil tank (pretty close to engine room I think...)

Sadly we have to face a very BIG posibility that the whole compartment got imploded now.

heat insulator: It is also wrapped around exhaust outside of the pressure hull.
cooling pipe insulation: cooling pipe extends up to torpedo compartment.
torpedo tube straightener: i don't know but if they have secured the torpedo compartment there is still hope.
prayer mat: living quarters are next to the torpedo compartment so explains it pretty much.
oil tank and periscope fluid: there is one-two tanks outside of the pressure hull which would crush at that depth.
Periscope fluid within its own container: this is what crushing my hopes.

I am still clinging on the slight chance remained:
torpedo compartment was flooded they secured but went head-down to deep, emergency blow didn't work because it didn't provide enough buoyancy, they rammed against the ground and the debris &fuel discharge is scattered.

my only hope, either they didn't suffer for long and it has happened fast and they will rest in peace, or they are alright and will be rescued soon.

there are vids on yt about "forensic" analysis on ara san juan accident that show how subs implode due to extreme pressure at 750 ish depth, but it's out of topics and too disturbing even for animation of imploded subs. i can post it here if allowed

Just realized most of media and social media think SUBSUNK status means the submarine has sunk below crush depth and they are all gone, here what SUBSUNK status refers to:

The Codeword used for an operation that will be executed in order to initiate a fully co-ordinated search for a submarine that is known to have sunk. The codeword is also used by any authority or unit to signal when having positive information that a submarine has sunk (eg, when submarine has been located).

They are following procedures,
SUBLOOK declared after one hour of missing a COMCHECK,
SUBMISS declared after 3 hours of an inconclusive SUBLOOK
SUBSUNK declared after 72 hours+slight evidences, or earlier upon strong evidences of a submarine being sunken.

I believe TNI AL deployed other assets in the area during the exercise, 402 must be close to the surface during torpedo launch exercise any explosion of torpedoes must be detected by other assets, there will be huge rising air bubbles from the water.

It is Indonesian first experience to have major Submarine accident.... Most of true military people can't forget this kind of incident. Including people who actually working in military Defense industry and related ones. That's must be major change in training module, maintenance and operational procedure, sourcing of the sparepart, facilities and supporting units...there should be major change though the result would be the slowing down of procurement process...

People tube just doesn't instantly implode when they reach their crush depth (that only happen in Hollywood), Its gradual process of water pressure penetrating the tube and began flooding while the tube buckling under pressure. It's the same thing with biological (human body). It's all about internal pressure vs external pressure.
