Mete Yarar is talking about some interesting points.
1. He reckons Aesa Radar is already on F16 and being tested. (4.30+min)
2. An unmanned jet fighter will fly long before TFX. This will be a very capable and very “modern” plane.
How many T/R Modules would this AESA radar have as GaAs?

Could that be to do with smaller RCA values for square surfaces?

They may have changed the engine. Different size and thrust requirements may have forced TAI engineers to change the air intake design as well because the engine nozzle looks like longer to me.

Reminds me of the JF-17 and its engine, the RD-93...
If Klimov RD93 is fitted on these planes then it means that western engines are no longer available to us and we may be looking at AL41 engines for TFX!
That is something , wishfully will not happen! But if it has to be, then it has to be!

Would like to know more which model of the F404 we are getting. Because the ones used by the FA-50 only offer 17.700 lb of thrust meanwhile according to TAI Hürjet will be equipped with an engine capable of delivering 19.000 lb thrust.

I think the one used in Tejas deliver around 20.000 lb.

Also there is a big discrepancy between the ranges. FA-50=1800km Tejas=1800km Hürjet=2600km ?!

How is Hürjet achieving almost 800km more range to its similar sized counterparts with the same engine? What kinda black magic are TAI engineers concocting in their offices! :)

J-IN20 version of the F404 engine is the highest thrust version of these engines. As they are currently supplying these 20200lbs thrust engines to India, they are available. It would make a good light attack aircraft out of Hurjet.

Definitely not Ej200 or RD93, engine nozzle looks like F404 or F414. But model looks more detailed than before, probably they changed it to the final design or 3D designer find it easier to make it square.. It does not look as bad as Tornado but a bit worse than Gripen

T629 (non-electric one) is not in the new projects, I wonder what will happen to that project.. Like Göksungur it is changing course

The boxyness of intakes and the general look is affected by the perspective presentation of the model on the TAI website. When you look from the top you can see the actual look.

Atak-2 grew some nipples, wore a cap and flared its wings when it had some private time.
I bet it will change itself once again before it hatches.

The flared wings help with stability on planes like Akıncı but they are too small to make a difference on Atak2.
It may only help cram more weapons in a tighter space and reduce some footprint.

It will change couple dozen times more :) just like T625, T629 and Hurjet before it.
