Spiegel for FCAS: Outdated before it even flies

The project of the German-French fighter FCAS, which is intended to enter service in 2035-2040, may be technologically outdated even before it leaves the assembly line, writes Der Spiegel .

Germany will opt for the F-35. The new government in Germany is a US asset. FCAS is dead before arrival. France will probably be forced to do it alone. Anyway, after the TF-X Türkiye will transition to UCAVs for the 6th gen.

Could the Tempest programm be interesting for the Germans?

Since 2005, I don't see any serious attempt by the German government to subsidize or encourage any own costly military projects. They are more and more reverting to the 60's - buying what ever from the USA. - aside maybe land-systems.
