2 submarine for $600mil is a bit too expensive, we should get 3 minimum. If its 2 then its should include (upgrade(upgrading the electronics and sensors, AIP would be nice + weapons)

perhaps the scope ia to acquired ready-to-use hull with state of the art equipment.

This is why you should scrap the idea for purchasing stuff from down tiered country. (Make your aim to european nations)

@Madokafc IIRC you said that you are interested with Los Angeles class, maybe we can get 1 boat with $600 mil without the weapons.

Second hand Tupi class only cost $70 mil including refurbishment.

$600 mil will get us a lot of second hand stuff.

We're all know how abysmal KCR performance is, so please NO...
I believe it won't use KCR as the base design, but completely new design. Its the writer's opinion about the KCR design.

It is not surprising that PT PAL wanted its own design, considering that its President director was the founder of PT Terafulk design. He also has experience working in a shipyard in Japan.

If we are gonna use this new design as low tier Vrygat, why not?

And the FREMM would be the backbone of our navy, if we cancel IH.

Fully contradictive, why would reengineer the hull if you would create a ship from scratch.

IMHO there's a lot difference between KCR and Frigate.
Lets say, the new model will use leghtened hull of IH with some room rearrage along with different electronics.

Even the redesign phase need 8 months, it will be take much longer to modivied even create ship from scratch.

This Made me worry when government easily approved weapon purchase for readiness sake, it is something brewing amid pandemic?
I have the same concern as you are. Did you remember the rumour about the "close door" unpleasant conversation between 08 and dragon up north? Since then the purchase plan was moving faster then I normaly would expect. Amid the pandemic looks like our bendahara still trying hard to fulfill our def need. Even for our top man to bless the plan purchase (in large number) of US fighters was huge move imho. This "pre-loved" Submarine purchase plan is even bigger then that, imagine the political backfire our Govt going to get as 01 already said that no more used purchase. Im not against it btw, totally cool with pre-loved submarine, its just that all these things wont happen if the threat analisys not supporting it.

The move of BIN directly under President was a good move by our Menkopolhukam (before they reported to him). Its now unlikely for President to get second hand A1 information from BIN. Interesting indeed......
You do realize that a weakened region when most, if not all, of the countries in it are still in a desperate battle against the damn virus is ripe for the picking for a certain power, don't you
I know right?? But if we look closely on how things unfold perhaps the reason wont be just that. 08 Safari which was and still supported by 01 by saying he wasnt just getting stuff from them but also doing defence arrangement as well tells something. Now if we look back to the trip result was def cooperation with France, Turks, Japan already been signed. The multiple trip to Russia was made but nothing surface yet, rumour has it that those SU35 contract would be diverted to something else which Im sure it will happen as Russia is highly unlikely want to lose face infront of the world on how their contract got "beaten" by the west, they are too proud for that. But still 08 visit them personally multiple times so it wont be just about the SU35.

Our Turks friend on the other hand might kind enough to sell their used Sub as what the rumour has it before, tho the tonage is off if we look at Janes news. Japan is also moving very fast imho, I mean only in Japan the BUMN minister, foreign minister and def minister together present at the same time, when did the last time we seen this togetherness when doing a "talk"?

Those are the "safari" trip events. Locally and politically isnt it going to be political nightmare during this pandemic era to get pre-loved assets which has already been forbid before? Todays security conditions is on alert and we already seen some poltical individual/group is trying to take advantage, why risking it? Idk man, nothing is coincidence in Intelegence world and those events are too smooth and going way faster compare to the normal process.

This one looks better. Not as old as Brazilian one.

"We don't need advance sub that can patrol silently in enemy territory for months" - Prabowo. And suddenly this second hand sub news coming in and become reality.

BTW, On the same news prabowo talked about new advance Fighter that need 5-6 years to delivered (2 squadrons).
Well @Madokafc, looks like those second hand block 52+ looks delicious...
