It makes more sense and is simpler if PT PAL cooperates with MHI to produce a Mogami class than designing IH from scratch. The Mogami class is still new and the shipyards are still active in cooperating, and politically it has been supported even by the leaders of the two countries.

Just waiting for the good news or not so good news then

Apalah atuh saya mah lulusan SMP di Jakarta Timur doang....

$600 mil for only one hull?

It's gotta be SURYO submarine!

Damn you for almost made me burst coffee from my nose :ROFLMAO:

Hikikomori

I hope any Japanese who read this will be able to take this joke with stride. Though after a second thought I personally find it somewhat matching because, in a sense, they were like some guy who choose to lock himself up in his room and rarely - if ever - goes out.

Although it must be said that this guy is not just an ordinary guy. He's actually a genius and a wizard who were once took the world by storm.

Todays security conditions is on alert and we already seen some poltical individual/group is trying to take advantage

In this case, my main concern is that those individuals or groups are actually sleeper agents with missions from their foreign master to weaken us further from the inside.

Looking back at previous talk

TKMS is understood to be offering a Type 214 variant that is similar to the Hellenic Navy’s Papanikolis-class boats. (Michael Nitz/Naval Press Service)
A delegation of representatives from German shipbuilder Thyssen-Krupp Marine Systems (TKMS) has arrived in Jakarta to discuss the potential acquisition of Type 214 diesel-electric submarines (SSKs) for the Indonesian Navy (Tentera Nasional Indonesia – Angkatan Laut: TNI-AL).

The delegation, which is headed by a TKMS Senior Vice President that is responsible for the eastern region, completed their last day of quarantine procedures on 2 March, and began discussions with representatives from the Indonesian Ministry of State Owned Enterprises and the Ministry of Defence (MoD) a day later, a source close to the ongoing discussions has confirmed with Janes.

Among matters that are being discussed include the TNI-AL’s operational requirements, work-share arrangements that can be offered by TKMS to the local shipbuilding industry, infrastructure support, and financing terms should a procurement programme for the boats materialise.

Besides Jakarta, the TKMS delegation will also be visiting PT PAL’s submarine production facilities in Surabaya.

The Type 214 SSK from TKMS is one of several programmes that have been recently included in the MoD’s ‘Blue Book’– a list of proposed procurements that either have, or are being escalated to the Indonesian Ministry of National Development Planning (Kementerian Perencanaan Pembangunan Nasional: BAPPENAS) for funding approval.

The escalation, which outlines a requirement for up to four Type 214 boats, was disclosed in the 2021 edition of a yearly publication for Indonesian Armed Forces (Tentara Nasional Indonesia: TNI) and MoD staff known as the ‘Leadership Assembly’. The publication features opening remarks from TNI Chief Air Vice Marshal Hadi Tjahjanto and Defence Minister Prabowo Subianto.

this reinforce my opinion that we're going to stop at 2 KCR-40, the rest will converted to a PC-40

KRI Parang (hull no.647) are originally a KCR-40, scheduled to be equipped with a 30mm NG-18, two c-705.
here it's seen with a Marlin 30mm cannon.

So bassically it is possible to mount AShM aboard any PC 40 without any major modification ?

they'll need the sensors and cueing system for the NG-18 and C-705.

which is absent from the ships.

here's hull 645 (Surik) with a (probably mock) C-705 launcher, but notice that it had no TR-74C fire control radar or the SR-47AG search radar.

For even Soryu, the loan still over budget for single hull, furthermore if the rumor to plrocure sub within 1800 to 2800 range the Soryu possibly out of board.

But, Taking Type 212 and Dolphin 3 into account still possible to be bought.

I think the mast still have some space to be installed with Both of TR 74C and SR 47AG.

IMHO, installing CIWS is optional in case of emergency to convert PC 40 to be missile ship.

Currently my brain still asking why in first place Navy didn't install exocet on every missile boat instead of instaling vast option of missile ???
