Afghans are now accusing the Muslim World of turning a blind eye.

What BS honestly I can safely say majority of Muslims have lost hope in Afghanistan.

Dont blame us for it blame yourselves. You had so many times to build a nation but instead you guys threw it out just for your tribalism and corruption. Afghanistan got sacrificed in the altar of geopolitical struggles. I guess its fate or destiny.

When was the last time afghanistan has been at peace i dont think anybody remembers at all when the country was at peace.

Now they are telling us we got to send money ahh yes charity money that will only be embezzled. So many examples of that happening.
I would state just before the Soviet invasion.

Let me clarify this. Republic of Ireland also does not accept the Ulster border with UK but that does not mean we can't live in peace. In fact I personally hope at some point in future the Af-Pak border becomes a soft border where citizens of both countries can move across much like Common Travel Area between UK and Ireland.

I know in India you guys love dwelling on this Durand Line being artificial and drawn by British. What you very deceptively ignore is every border in all of South Asia, Middle East going to as far as Turkey were drawn by European powers be they British, Russian or French. Take India. Your western border with Pakistan is Radcliffe Line, your border with China was drawn by British and of course carries the name of the British official who drew the line - McMahon Line.

Indian border with Burma or Myanmar was also drawn by the British. But despite what anbyody says these are now internationally accepted borders.

Going back to Afghanistan the fact is the Kabul regime is a foreign imposed order put in place by US guns. Taliban are indigenious and that is a fact even America has not accepted. Nobody judges or measures Saudia Arabia according to liberal or democractic standards. USA, the West and the entire world is happy in supporting the primitive, misogynist monsters of the House of Saud. In fact they are happy to arm the Saudi's to teeth and even defend them as we saw in first Gulf war. They do this because of their national interest.

Diito Pakistan and Taliban. Yes to be sure there are going to be potential problems because Taliban take over might inspire the Islamists to enforce the same medieval laws in Pakistan. But that is a challange Pakistan will have to face. I believe under the able leadership of PM IK Pakistan will prevail.

This time around we are better placed to handle the storms from Afghanistan -

  • border has almost all been fenced
  • the FATA districts have been merged and are recieving massive developement funding. PM IK has managed to even finess Khyber Pakhtunkwa and Punjab governments to contribute to a developmemt fund toward erstwhile FATA.
  • a able government under PM IK which has at least 4 senior members from FATA or districts neighbouring FATA thus give local 'purchase' to government policy.
  • the pace and level of work going on in FATA is amazing. Schools, universties, motorways etc are rolling out fast.
  • the number of locals from erstwhile FATA who have made it big is astounding and a role model for the you. From billionaire Peshawar Zalimi owner Javed Afridi, to Shah Afridi the cricketer to Ms Zartaj Gul the list is long.
My point was simply that,is no need to jump and celebrate Hollow victory, problems would come to the region, irrespective of india or Pakistan

I saw a interview of Suhail Shaheen, the Taliban spokesman and he made some interesting points -

  • Taliban would never have been able to fight USA/NATO for 20 years without the active support of vast number of the civilian population of Afghanistan. Meaning they hid them, they fed them and provided volunteers. This makes sense.
  • Most of the districts that have fallen in Taliban hands is because ANA have changed sides or surrendered with minimum fight. This again makes sense given the speed to the spread.
  • The Taliban will not be involved in any trans-national terrorism and oppose Daesh/ISIS etc
  • The Taliban will have no issues with female education, they can go do Phds etc but must wear hijab as is practiced in many Muslim countries.
  • Taliban have not been in contact with India and warn New Delhi to stop providing arms to the Kabuli regime which they use to kill their men.
One thing is certain. I used to follow reports on Taliban in 1990s and it is clear after 20-30 years they have refined their thinking and entire new younger generation has taken leadership roles. Many of these men are well educated and aware of the world which could never be said of the Taliban v0.

My feeling is if Taliban take over we will see a modified form of the previous government. Something akin to Saudia Arabia. If the world can acept Saudia Arabia I can't see why a Taliban regime could not be accepted.

There will be flights by USAF over Pak airspace until September 2021 per the agreement. However there is no basis to say these are combat flights and any such claims are just Indian propaganda. At this critical juncture Pakistan would be suicidal to allow combat flights knowing it would lead to Taliban reaction. US also has ceased all combat operations against Taliban as the latter do not target any NATO/US forces.

As long as Taliban do not target NATO/US forces and provide support to Daesh/ISIS etc groups that present threat to USA this agreement will stand.

So we are back to good Taliban vs bad Taliban
It's always been good Taliban vs bad Taliban. Ask the Americans who created the antecendents of Taliban way back in 1979. The good/bad depending on your particular prejudices.

The source is in Urdu translation.

The source is Pakistani. I will link it up later in the evening. We rarely get good weather in UK. But yesterday and today has been a scorcher so need to get out and enjoy it. See you guys in the evening. The source is Suhail Shaheen a graduate of Islamic University in Islamabad and he speaks Persian, Pashto, Urdu and English.

Don't forget the definition of 'Islamic' is on a linear continuum. For ISIS the Taliban could be seen as moderates, for Saudi's the Taliban as extremists, for most mainstream religious groups in Pakistan the Taliban are too extremists, then for somebody like me they are all extremists. And by Turkish secular standards I might come across as conservative AKP fodder. That is why there is no 'Islam' other than what everybody renders in their own mind. There are Islams and which are often contininously fighting each other.

It's not like the Kabul regime of NA are some liberal, gay loving, feminists. By Western standards they are misogynist, bigots trapped in a bygone era. Everything is relative.
