I have always been amused at the claim that first Pakistan supports the Taliban and second that it is being deceptive. The truth is it USA that decieved. Whenb USA wanted to invade Afghanistan in 2001 and topple the Taliban it came kocking at Pakistan's door to use our air and sea ports. Pakistan agreed but made it known that while USA is in pursuit of it's national interests Pakistan also has it's interests. They made it known to Americans they must not allow India or her proxies in Afghanistan gain Kabul as that would present threat to Islamabad.

Well, USA invaded, toppled Taliban and then promptly allowed anti Pakistan groups to take Kabul over who invited India in. Before the month Indian consulates sprouted along our border like weeds and began sponsoring insurgents inside Pakistan.

This would be akin to America invading Iraqi Kurdistan using Turkey as a platform, using Turkish air bases, Turkish logistics to then instal PKK government in Erbil who then invite Russians into areas adjacent to Turkish border and they begin supporting insurgency inside Turkey.

This is exactly what Pakistan has had to put with for last 20 years.

While this narrative has constantly been peddled by the Pakistani State, they have never once provided an iota of proof about this allegation.

Also they didn't "come knocking" on Pak's door. They were pretty much issued an ultimatum that they either did as they were told or Pakistan would be bombed back to stone age.

So Pakistan quickly complied and reversed their policy of supporting the Taliban regime.

Which particular thing do you want proof for?

So, if I placed a gun on your head I am sure you would comply - but if my demands amounted to slicing yourself I think you would do your best to avoid that.

The fact is the status quo you see in Afghanistan has been imposed by US Marine Corps, USAF B-52 bombers, MOAB bombs, Daisy cutters, Apache gunships etc.

Once you pull that out it will revert to status quo ante.

Taliban's answer to Ashraf Ghani babbling about durand line i.e Taliban's consider durand line as a border with Pakistan

I have never understood why the Anglo-Russian Line does not get any attention [it is the boundary imposed by Russia and Britain on Afghanistan in the north] but the Durand Line gets all the attention.

Anglo Russian. 2.png

Then there was the Panjdeh incident in which Russia pushed south into Afghan territory and captured Kushka. This strip of land today is in Turkmenistan. I don't see Ashraf Ghani making claims on this strip of land. My guess is if he did nobody would get a *yawn* but when he says 'Durand' it recieves the attention of 1.4 billion.

The 1921 Afghan-Soviet Treaty of Friendship was the first international agreement made by the Soviet Union. Although "the Soviets agreed to return to Afghanistan, subject to plebiscites, territories in the Panjdeh area ceded under duress by Afghanistan to Russia or Bukhara in the nineteenth century", that was not done.[6]

Taliban in full Pokemon mode and filling out their Shariahdex. Incredible gains in the face of a flaccid enemy.
