Yesterday we lost an Akinci in Iraq, maybe we should have some self defence system or, we should use smaller, cheaper UAVs for targetting/recce and use Akinci as stand off missile truck.
A old footage.

Sure but it's not like we need to throw $20 Million + to the dumpster, when the same work can be done with cheaper UAVs.The point or one point of UAVs is that they are expendable.
The very first video of KE engaging an aerial target from a a2a missile from its inner weapons bay is going into my porn, I mean, homework folder. In all seriousness though, I hope they'll be able to start serial production in 2026, we need this bird and Anka-3 to hold the fort for about a decade.
Current state of range can be misleading as the radar is also developed domestically and its parameters are not probably finalized and can be modified with the limiting factor being the power supply. Or maybe even that is not the limiting factor as they can probably work the radar with more power in short bursts.Nice of them to reveal critical and classified range info with that map visual
Aselsan will provide RAM materials for Kızılelma. Everything is ready on that front. With avionics in testing the one critical component left is RAM paint. I wonder when we will start getting some news about that
I'm guessing the one they entered that NATO workshop with, right? That was years ago, they must've finalised by now.Aselsan will provide RAM materials for Kızılelma. Everything is ready on that front.
The foundation is based on that, but it is a new product developed exclusively for Kızılelma.I'm guessing the one they entered that NATO workshop with, right? That was years ago, they must've finalised by now.
Is there a need for seperate prototype to test the ram painting or can it be integrated into one of the already existing ones?Aselsan will provide RAM materials for Kızılelma. Everything is ready on that front.
If at the top right edge we are seeing Crimean peninsula, Sebastopol to Istanbul is ~345km.
It will take years until Kizilelma is combat ready they just started avionics/munitions integration. Most likely Anka will be the first platform to be combat ready simply because it’s mission profile is differentIt's about time, hopefully we have a batch ready for the inventory within 12 months. Forget the Eurofighter or F16, Kızılelma will be our only hope at a "stop gap" until Kaan is ready. In my opinion if done right they'll be a better option than filling the inventory with more 4th gen fighters.
If we were to simply buy new F16s or Eurofighters, we'd still be at a disadvantage. But if Kızılelma is perfected and introduced in good numbers even adversaries with 5th gen fighters would shy away from any sort of confrontation (they already do, but have been getting very bold recently).
