That would be an ideal thing. I really hope these companies ensures solid economic stability rather than living on the edge.

TRMOTOR Is Now Called TEI TECHNOLOGY...

An important step has been taken to consolidate indigenous aircraft engine development activities under a single organization. A new organizational structure has been established for the development of the TF35000 engine, which will power the MMU KAAN fighter aircraft, whose intellectual and industrial property rights belong entirely to the Presidency of Defence Industries (SSB), as well as the TS3000 series turboshaft engines that will power the T925 General Purpose Helicopter, along with related materials development activities.

As part of this move, TRMOTOR has officially been renamed TEI TECHNOLOGY. All of these activities will now be carried out under the TEI TECHNOLOGY organization.

In addition to engine design, TEI TECHNOLOGY will also support development, engineering, and research & development (R&D) activities.

According to information provided by the SSB, the objective is to make more effective use of engineering resources and accelerate development schedules.

Activities Under the New Plan

The TS1400 and PD170 programs, along with TEI's production, maintenance, and product support activities, will continue under TEI without any changes. The strategic partnership between TEI and GE Aerospace, as well as TEI's international responsibilities, will not be affected by this restructuring.

This will ensure uninterrupted production, delivery, platform integration, and customer support for these engines. Likewise, there will be no changes to TEI's core business areas, including Parts and Module Manufacturing, Service, and Product Support.

Who Owns TEI?

Founded in 1985 through a partnership between Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ), GE Aerospace, the Turkish Armed Forces Foundation (TSKGV), and the Turkish Aeronautical Association (THK), TEI has become one of Türkiye's leading engineering and manufacturing companies in the field of aircraft engines.

Since its establishment, TEI has continuously expanded its production, assembly, testing, and engineering capabilities. Today, it is a key supplier for some of the world's most widely used civil and military aircraft engine programs, including the CFM LEAP, GE Aerospace GEnx, and GE9X, manufacturing components for more than 50 engine programs.

Leveraging the manufacturing culture and engineering expertise gained through international programs, TEI has applied this experience to national projects and plays a significant role in developing and producing the critical engine technologies required by Türkiye's defense industry.

TRMOTOR Was Founded in 2017

TRMOTOR was established in 2017 with the goal of developing indigenous solutions in aircraft engines and power systems. Through its work on gas turbine engines and auxiliary power unit (APU) systems, it has become one of the key players in Türkiye's domestic engine development ecosystem.

With its strong technological infrastructure, highly qualified workforce, and growing engineering capabilities, the company has made significant contributions to several indigenous engine development projects in recent years.

As a result, uninterrupted production, delivery, platform integration, and customer support for these engines will continue to be ensured. There will also be no changes to TEI's existing core activities, particularly in Parts and Module Manufacturing, Service, and Product Support.

Partnership with GE Aerospace Will Continue Unchanged

The new organizational structure will not affect TEI's existing ownership structure or its international operations.

The strategic partnership between TEI and GE Aerospace, which has been successfully maintained for 41 years, will continue unchanged.

Accordingly, TEI will continue fulfilling its production responsibilities for international civil and military engine programs while maintaining its strong position within the global supply chain.

It seems like the TF-35000 and TS-3000 teams will be transferring to TEI Teknoloji. TEI will be a production subcontractor and won't have a role or will have a very limited role in the design and engineering of those engines. TS-1400 and TF-6000 will continue at TEI.

There were talks (or at least TEI CEO Mahmut Aksit mentioned it once) about a twin engine (2x TF10000) Hurjet.

But what about keeping Hurjet (LCA version) single engine. Make the LCA version a little bigger, use a single TF35000 engine.

I wish SSB would go for a middle class fighter asap, something that complements our Kaan fighter, which is a heavy one

You are correct. Mahmut Akşit said that few times. Twin engined Hurjet will give a total of 12000lbf + dry thrust and 20000lbf+ wet thrust to Hurjet. If they made it a single seater with a stealthy body it could be a very capable fighter jet. Especially if they pushed the engine output towards 7000lbf dry and 12000lbf wet thrust each, it could be a good fighter jet for a carrier too.
But do we have the resources to support such a project? If we are building MUGEM, we should.

Single TF35000 engined LCA is not going to be a Light Combat Aircraft; but would have to be a single engined KAAN. That is a project as large as KAAN it self. This is also a long winded project that would take a long time to mature. However it may be the natural evolving process for the stealth programme for future.

But for short term solution to turn Hurjet into an effective LCA and navalise it to be used on MUGEM, a twin engined Hurjet still seems more correct route, particularly from the point of view of it’s indigenous engines giving us the freedom to do as we please.
Hurjet can’t fly from MUGEM as it is. It will have to be navalised and its aerodynamic structure has to be redesigned to suit carrier operations any way. So why not go one step further by using local engines? Otherwise come 2032-35, we will have a carrier with no effective manned fighter jets. Just KE and Anka-3 as air power. Albeit they need to be navalised too.
