The missile canister's cover opens. This is how they test whether the seeker head can detect IR signals, similar to the Mistral/SINBAD naval launcher. Lock on before launch. Not like RIM-116.I hope we see it deployed on ships as soon as possible.

Not totally sure what you mean with "This is how they test whether the seeker head can detect IR signals" but manpads need to lock on before launch in order to engage targets since they lack a data link

As mich as I like the idea and system at all, I want to see a more „Transformers“ -like mechanic system, not an add on or plug-in system.
For example, the radar on the roof of the truck, should be retractable.

Yes there is no data link that's why you need to check seekers engagement. Otherwise how you could connect information from radar with missiles.



First AESA radars detects target. But SUNGUR is standard limited MANPADS missiles as you send. You can not send target information to SUNGUR. SUNGUR itself must detect and receive IR signals.


Or Launcher sends SUNGUR towards target and locks after launch?

Because FIM-92K: Variant of FIM-92J designed to use a vehicle datalink rather than the missile's own seeker for targeting.

What's on top isn't a radar, it's an electro optical system, possibly a laser designator as well, like Aselflir.

Secondly, every mechanical point you add to a system is another potential failure point, and a maintenance list item. Simpler is better, reliability is better, unless it is absolutely unavoidable to complicate a system.

And, any anti-air system needs to come online in a seconds notice, or, shouldn't have an "off" time at all, especially one that is supposed to be on the frontlines.

The lower the cannon is placed, the better. Turks got everything right. The cannon is low and placed way in the back. Correct.

Pantsir took the wrong path, and they paid for it dearly.

The critic is correct because of low placement of the turret and sensors on the cabin gürz has a massiv blind spot on the front but on the other hand this is not designed to engage fpv drones but rather kamikaze drones, cruise missiles and anything else larger than a shahed style drone.

I don't want sound against it but this truck mounted - 35mm ciws + SHORAD - platform is really necessary?

I don't think 35 CIWS could fire on move.
If this platform for security of strategic assets, korkut has other option.

You can not secure a strategic factory just with one CIWS. Need to cover 360 degree.

If you need CIWS that fires on the move , it should be armored ! Why? Because firing on the move means : you are in the hot battle.. and again we have wheeled Korkut.here it is.

I dunno but this Chinese truck seems more effective. İnstead of one Gürz , 2x autonomous truck might be better.

For gürz truck 4 AESA radars are too much, 2 arrays would be enough. But need to double number of truck.

Look at the recoil impulse . Even I would use 4 x truck with own directional radar for 360 degree cover

We now have 3 different type of "cost effective" anti drone(kamikaze drone) solution sungur, Eren, cirit and all three can be used by drones
