It's a recurring theme with this lot in general.
High on the blah, high on the inflated padded stats (pass it around kumbaya copy-paste numbers stronk) high on the time for spreading it....but low on the quality, low on the actual info.
In fact its a recurring joke among people in the know to...
I partially agree and normally (if India was a higher tier nuclear power) I would fully agree with you.
But India is a warhead deficit and (relative) missile surplus country.
It has to make each warhead as survivable as possible....and nothing beats an SSBN for that.
I'm not saying scrap A-6...
This indeed is a major advantage to methalox, it can be scaled and applied quite readily...and you get many dividends from one "chunk" of research.
It (methane) can also be produced on other planetary systems more readily (than say hydrogen and definitely more than kerosene which is a complex...
In fact France would do well to strengthen its relationship with India even more now.
There is still huge scope on offer, and it wont be hijacked so easily like with smaller % "anglo saxon" pop countries w.r.t US
@Vergennes
Yes you will notice the key population % ratios (w.r.t US)
Australia is maybe ~ 10% (Canada is around here too)
UK is around 20%
Japan is around 40% level (this starts becoming significant portion - and hence what it can bring to table starts to really increase compared to the others lower...
More from the Taliban that really should get with the program and change their name...to keep the IEA one halal.

Part 2 @Saithan :
In fact they may have already calculated how much more % wise they need it (forex saving ratio) at roughly (to handle the climb coming into view...and seeing where the inverted yield is for Lira itself),
i.e This could be just phase 1 in the bump up...and more phases to...
Not sad at all....if there is brutal cold resource analysis that outputs this route as more optimal, its the way to go.
Isp is just one factor.....i.e do we put a ferrari engine in every car?
Methalox is halfway there between kerolox and hydrolox in Isp, yet carries lot of the advantages of...
Generally have to go big like Tangail or go home.
Large lessons were learned (by defending team as well) during WW2 when SAS successfully raided major Luftwaffe air base:

So replicating it after OG becomes fraught with difficulties...
I honestly still dont get what the Aussies were thinking with shortfin barracuda.
They should have gone for quick SSK option with either Germans or the French.
Or if SSN was good (and always on the plate to consider), then go with the barracuda, astute or virginia.
They just wasted a whole...
BTW guys, I just had a chat with retired RCN submariner bud of mine.
His opinion TIFWIW: Don’t get too excited. The most likely outcome of this (SSN) decision is that Australia doesn’t get any submarines.
@MisterLike et al. what do you think about merging this thread with the other two and pinning it. I feel this debate and discussion is just getting started and would be good to have it all in one place and pinned for easy access.
Other two similar threads...
Like I get what you mean, but I think its something lot more mundane than that.
Turkish govt essentially has the clearest picture at hand on what (forex) payments are coming up (that its staring at, given they signed up for it) regarding foreign debt in final quarter of this FY and some grey...
Hmmm...maybe thats what that german website is talking about with the 2xCE-20 for the SHLV....i.e this methalox engine x2 instead.
Hopefully ISRO gives clear picture soon what the routes are firmly.
Even though methalox (semi cryo methane + LOX) has slightly worse Isp than full-cryo...
Like I'll bite your "bait" I guess? Have you done an actual number crunch vis a vis %'s relative to flight hours of the platform in IAF use? Something you know how to do or even what that is?
Sure whatever you say.
I'm sure you will have lot better luck (compared to the dozens of Pakistanis...
