A lot of these projects (TF2000, Milden, Mugem...) have been under planning for some 20 years (TF2000= Turkish Frigate 2000) in one way or another. The issue was that they got delayed because of political and economical problems for instance I Class was originally designed with a lot of foreign...
Somewhat true but in the future the real long range radars for ballistic Defence will be alp500g (SEIRS) and alp600g (YIRAD) and these radar systems will be much better in detecting ballistic missiles than cenk 600n.
Some of the other analysts I know also sad that when our navy builds nuclear subs than the likelihood of a nuclear carrier increased as well. But these ships are a decade away from even being constructed.
To be fair a billion dollars is still a good price compared to other ships. Greek fdi costs around 800 million per ship and arleigh Burke cost close to 2 billion I think only the South Koreans and Japanese are better than us even though they use American systems on their ships.
I think they would first order the replacement for the sold ships and the extra maybe after the 3 tf2000. But overall I don’t expect any more orders for tf2000 before 2029 but I would welcome 10 istifs for our navy.
First keel laying this month and you can see numerous blocks under construction at the same time.
I wonder if other shipyards are also building other blocks?
Theoretically yes but it needs a passive seeker and a (data link for mid course corrections if necessary). But using this for SEAD/DEAD duties is not smart as this is very big and slow. This would have a similar mission profile to shaheds only more capable. You could also use this as missile bait .
I got a question is YIRAD now known as alp600 or something else because of the size difference. YIRAD was shown to be similar to tpy 2 and alp 600 is as big as 4 story building.
Im not really sure if comparing the iranian navy to the russian navy is fair not that it would fare differently for them. Iran didn't have a real navy to beginn with our 15 year old Ada's are more capable than any of their ships and that lack of quality is present in all of the branches. The...
The americans rarely share their tech. Most of the time its just transfer of production like we saw with our f16 and now Rheinmetall with their future Pac 2/3 production line. I think the only time we got TOT was with the ACV15.
