for US Sensors, yes it is good but weapons, i prefer the European Just Brahmos?? no short range SSM like those Exocet? ok lets compromise, Medium SAM = HQ-16 LR SAM = HHQ-9 SSM = YJ-12

i believe that they simply wanted higher power to weight ratio. plus if you compare the dimension, empty weight and full combat weight of Rafale, KF 21 and Super Hornet, Snecma M88 is kinda too small for KF 21 basically Rafale doing it by having a lower empty weight aka a smaller aircraft...
