China expanded mostly through the spread of the Chinese civilization, not wars of quest. Some nomadic dynasties helped China to greatly enlarge her territories but they were minority dynasties, didn't typically represent China's hardcore values and psyche.
So I guess we can call this new alliance Anglo Saxon alliance. Clash of the civilizations.
