Folding wings probably introduce some weak points in the structures. For a plane as small as the MIUS I would do away with wing folding. Wing folding is primarily for stowage so finding a good way to stow the plane with full span wings should be the way to go.
There has even been talk about it that there is some cavity around the engine which shows that the fuselage is wider than for 4th generation fighters to accommodate internal weapons bay. The plane in the picture is a tanker, a totally different design and is irrelevant.
The fuselage of MIUS has a noticeably wide body which contributes to lift especially under ground effect which can enable shorter overall wingspan that it seems to have now. There can be more design trade-offs to be made before the design is matured. The fact that MIUS can take off without help...
We will have MIUS and what not within 5 years.
TFX as a plane that will have engine running by early 2023 can be flying in small batches by 2025 if rushed a little.
You can see Akıncı's legs flexing when landing with all that payload.
Still it has the 450hp engine on it which actually gives 300hp at cruise.
There seems to be no word of the elusive 750hp engine yet.
Turkish government has a sovereign share of the gold produced which is levied as a percentage of the gold mined and the percentage is determined depending on the price of gold. Gold is priced at USD$ 1800+ now and the percentage is 15%. This amount is not tax (?) and other corporate and sales...
It is not like they never touch them, we exchange them as a last resort. So now we have some knowledge as to how Turkish people are coping with economic downturns. More and more people keep their gold in more exchangeable gold ingots rather than in ornamental pieces.
Turkish people have 3000-5000 tons of gold in their stashes as savings while US govt have 8000 tons as the top holder. As a gold miner Turkey is trying to move from 40 tons to 100 tons annual production in the next 5 years or so. I expect Turkish govt gold reserves to grow to more than 1500 tons...
720 tons is the amount of gold held in the coffers of Turkey's Central Bank.
All the gold deposited outside Turkey has been transferred to Turkey in the past few years.
The total amount of gold in Turkey's possession was 120 tons before.
A cargo VTOL is probably an intermeshing type; that is two rotors up top slightly offset. This is known to have the max lift but poor speed (?).
