I don't think major arms trades like tanks and jets are technical decisions. Those are mostly geopolitical / macro-economic in essence. That is why this scenario is not really plausible unless something seriously changes. And to be honest it really can, I just don't think it's going to change in...
A plausible scenario I read was Russians patrolling with drones in Black Sea because of the latest ship-hitting shenanigans, and some of them malfunctioned or got jinxed by EW and went into Turkey for some reason.
I cannot imagine what would be a Russian gain from flying some shitty drones...
I wonder how much equipment would be required to surveil the entire Black Sea coast with some kind of TB-2 + advanced sensor setup. I'd imagine it would be easier than covering the Syrian border because sea is flat.
If I was aliyev, I'd give really sweet deals to Armenians, so they can't just drop this rapprochement and go back to being "uga buga Turk bad" cavemen. Congrats to Paşinyan btw.
I have some people involved in Turkish DNA project, turns out Turkish speaking Orthodox Karamanlı people are genetically native Anatolian. You don't see the signature Siberian/East asian genetic admixture in their DNA at all. Our hypothesis about it is the remnant of early assimilation attempts...
The basic assumption about contemporary aerial warfare is; a lot of non-stealth aircraft can be 'sniped' with BVR missiles and AESA radars. This combo means opposition will have to keep their non-stealth platforms grounded, while you can keep yours in the air, if they are stealth. This...
Might be slightly off-topic, but forum elders need to compile a list of trusted sources. trmilitary had a banned sources list. Might be considered. I believe it wpuld greatly improve quality of posts.
Its either:
"Welp, there is no point on secrecy anymore"
or
"We have to come up with something so we don't get grilled in the senate hearing. Open all the discarded prototype files!"
I think it's the first btw
Speaking of possible upgrades, I guess the final for this plane would be its own loyal wingmen. Drones controlling drones lmao. If we can attach some kemankeş to the mini-kızılelma then it would be a drone controlled by a drone controlled by a drone. Droneception.
I worry about the incompatibility of those companies. Baykar would want to move a lot faster than those are accustomed to. It's one thing to deliver a couple of subsytems to Baykar, even with the rushed timetables. But it's a completely different ballgame when it comes to joint development of a...
I always thought the initial stages of "unmanned fighter" stuff would be AWACS aircraft directing and networking with a 'wall' of fighters in front of it. Highly networked, this means enemy needs an extreme stand-off anti-air capability to hit the AWACS but also needs extreme sensor capability...
And there is nothing but budgets holding Koreans back from localizing subsystems. Our situations are worlds apart due to acute embargos. Can't be compared.
You can make them cheap by buying boatloads of them. And nationalize components to the max so money stays in the country.
Or even if you don't, having the capability is very good as the know-how is transferrable.
To top it off, it can be used in niche cases by special forces even if it is...
I'm afraid that's simply a cope. When Assad was present, we had;
PKK infiltrations from north of halab
Russian presence
Iranian presence
PKK presence backed by USA
Now we have;
PKK presence backed by USA
Israelis near Damascus
You can't say that's a losing situation. We're still knee deep in...
Assad regime was an awoved enemy of all Turks. I do not miss that monster one bit. Anyone who thinks his departure is anything but good fot Turkey has lost the plot. Or, those people are afflicted with a sinister streak of secterianism as I have been finding out more and more.
It is far more...
