I always said this before Western civilisation is self destructing itself.

The columnist looks exactly like the kind of person I'd imagine to have a problem with people showing affection for their mothers. The stereotypes are becoming shockingly on point.

One thing i greatly admire about Turkish culture, even though they largely adapted western work ethic and modern governance, they are still able to hold on to their family values quite successfully till this day.

But i am not sure, if same can be said about the younger generation.

Who the f cares? 10, 100 or no empire - what difference does it make in our reality? America is basically an infant in the history of human empires and it still can erase Turkey from the map and physically end the existence of our nation.

So what if some 500 years ago our ancestors had built a big empire?

What matters is the reality, my being and lived experience. Stop being proud of the past and create a reason to be proud of our presence.
