@dBSPL bosniacs have mixed feelings towards turkey. Lot of us feel that we are betrayed and sold by turks during decline of ottoman empire, it partially is true historically but it is not full context of course and it is irrelevant for bigger bonds that connect us, also many brainwashing during communist era did lot of damage. Do not try to understand their hatred, serbs and croats in general have never got rid of complex because of ottoman rule it rooted in their national being and they project that on bosniacs, i gave up long time of understanding that just acepted it as fact of life.
So, in general i hope that cirumtences like 90ies will never happen again in sence how Turkey as state was powerless to help in any way beside humaniitarian efforts, of course we should take care for ourself primarely by us but it is easier if you know that you have big and powerful cousin amd brother behind your backs.
I am optimistic in general and see clear signs of you comeback in balkan area trough investments, infrastructure, cultural influence etc.
For me personally what would be really great and amazing if some of your defence industry giants establish basic connections with our defence industry sector, we have good base but some new know how and and r&d is much needed but that is politicaly tricky thing as we are fully under nato umbrella and it could be sensitive in certain ways, primarely becuase of your relatioms with usa.

One of the things we should never forget is that the Balkan Muslims and Anatolian Turks should be more than brothers. Because all these racist and Islamophobic formations and the mentality of people who sympathize with them do not see us separately.

Bosnia has suffered great tragedies and paid a great price for independence. However, systematic attacks against our brothers on both sides of the historical Bosnian Sanjak vilayet are still alive, behind the existing Bosnia borders. Bosnians do not deserve this hatred. Serbian Chetnik leftovers still insist on not waking up from their wet dreams, just like their soulmates in the eastern mediterranean.

@mulj @Bosanski Vojnik
I believe in Bosnian Turk death squads to hunt down and kill leftover trash. Why should Bosnian turks have to share with serbs and croats. They got their own countries.

Why do they think that Turks sold you guys during Ottoman times? Because after 1878 (the war Ottomans lost to Russia) Bosnia was transferred to Austria- Hungary?

Do these people even have an idea how many other stuff Ottomans lost after that war and how weak the Empire was at that time?

This might be stupid what wiill write but you never know who reads it on internet so i will writte anyway.
Turkey has in arsenal over 10000 m113 if i am correct, we have here facilities who could accomodiate at least dozems of those for various modifications, precise detailes should be defined by both counter parts defining what would be most benefical, that could be simbolic meesage as well that you have always have indirect military presence in bosnia, this just rough idea.
Second tought that goes trough my mind is buying of largest steel mill in balkan which is in bosnia, now it is owned by Mittal indian corporation, if by some miracle or bussines desision comes into hands of turkish some company from that industry, sky is the limit for further enhancment of metallurgy and related sectors here. Also, if your trade continue to increase with europe, there is lot of opportnities for you companies here for investment, logistical and costs advantages could be atractive for many of them which export lot to the eu.

Not only that, i am aware that empire was brought in submission by that time from various opponents.
Thing is that we spilled blood for sultans too and served as empire outpost for centuries, we have even folk songs about martyrs in russia etc.
What is most vivid and what is biggest trauma of bosniacs is war for bosnian autonomy in 1830, empire crushed it ruthlessly and at the same time gave wider autonomy to the serbia. Final nail in coffin is sending converted serb omer pasa latas in 1850ies who killed most of bosnian aristoracy and we left without Intellectual elite for which we paid heavy price in future, even today in certain way we feel consequences of that elite decapitation.

Yep, we were far distanced and forgotten province :)

I doubt it. For most of Ottoman history the Balkans were the most important part of the Empire. Conquest of the Balkans ended earlier than the conquest of Anatolia. The European provinces were the richest and most important economically and most of the Grand Veziers and high ranking officials of the Empire were from the Balkans too+ the Janissaries and many of the Sultan mothers etc. For much of the Empire Bosniaks had high positions in the Empire and Sarajevo was quite an important city too.

The last century of the Ottoman Empire was an absolute decay and degradation. The Empire was too far behind it’s enemies in economics, technology and social development and being lead by bad rulers did help at all too. It wasn’t only you guys who were left behind. After the same war where you were “sold” to Austria- Hungary the island of Cyprus was given to Britain as a “thank you” for not letting the Russians take Constantinople in 1878. Brits gained the control over Egypt and Sudan without even firing a shot too. 1- 1,5 million Turks from Bulgaria were ethnically cleansed as a result so it’s not like only Bosnians was neglected.
