Fucking hell that is one ugly vehicle. Only thing that front end is missing is a sticker that says "Put drone/atgm here!"

I laughed my ass off from the chair at breakfast. Because it is pretty accurate. The construction looks pretty amateurish and I still don't know why are firms like FNSS and ASELSAN aint making another show off to show how it is done right. Talking about Hybrid KAPLAN and ASELSAN's hybrid drive.

I know a guy who personally trained with him. An absolute beast!

Not many understand what kind of physical, mental strength and dedication is needed in this art, but for us who know, this is a reason to respect you.

I wish you success in what you do, what you plan to do and know that we are proud of you!

@Afif How much of this is just about a reaction against the China-Pakistan axis? And what other factors exist?

Sorry, the question is a bit vague. But I assume you are asking why is it comparatively low in BD and perhaps in India?

I don't think this is a reaction against China-Pakistan axis. I mean, obviously India
hate the axis to the core. However, their public attitude toward US is complex enough in its own right and independent that of PRC-PAK axis. @Nilgiri could tell better.

As for us, this isn't even a thing as it does not directly relate to us. In fact, we are pretty much in bed with China on our own for years regardless of who is in power. Public opinion overwhelmingly favor our relation with China over India.

When it comes to USA, it does enjoy a good image in BD. Specially, recently it improved quite a bit after US started to take some action against current undemocratic regime. But in principle, I think BD and South East Asians Muslims has relatively more favorable view of US and the West in general. (Compared to how people see the West in ME and Afghanistan/Pakistan for obvious reasons)

However, the actual reason (I can bet) vast majority adults responders (if chosen randomly) in BD or India didn't view US negatively is because chances are, they refrained from commenting. As they simply don't know a thing about US democratic system to even make a vague observation. Thus they had no actual answer.

And frankly this is the problem I have with this type of polls, you can't just put BD, India with the likes of ROK, Singapore and Japan. Those are some of the most developed countries in the world. Even though average folks there may not care about what's going on in US, they are overall educated, connected and informed enough to make a general comment. This type of Polling works relatively reliablely in developed countries. Not so much in underdeveloped countries. Where it is more likely people will say something for the sake of saying something without having a zero clue.

We are a fellow democracy so we generally get along with US on that basis, we understand the noise/mess/unseemliness involved...compared to the alternative.

Other's mileage may vary depending on their proximity to the US relationship and what was genuine vs transnational regarding it.....as lot of countries had different experience to India w.r.t US during the cold war.

This has little to do with reaction to PRC threat (both in that era and more recently). Separate matter for us.

i.e we would not care for say Soviet communist system (we would adjudge the US system favourably over it more or less same way), but definitely pursue good relations with them if they continued to present day (in fact this is what drives a lot of what we do with Russia, contrary to what the US and West would prefer), simply because they would be quite a huge bulwark against PRC ever since the sino-soviet split and the 69 border war that was to India's foreign policy advantage in the continent.

Similarly the Vietnamese may value the "fellow" communist system China has in their country compared to American one (past and present) to whatever degree ....but the Chinese threat posed to them and the Vietnamese reaction to it since the 79 war with China (then 10 years of bloody border conflict and continued SCS massive tension) is a different factor. Its why Vietnam was solidly in the Soviet camp during 70s and 80s cold war too....and keeps good relations with Russia, further consolidates with India and improving the American one each one (yes Vietnam war USA....adjudged as it is versus what PRC did in 79 and could do).

Basically we never have valued PRC's system well to begin with, but its not what drives our calculus of relationship with them, i.e it would have gone way differently if original panchsheel was commited to instead of upset by Mao and CCP quite deliberately (and inherited by today's CCP)....as simply India could objectively make friends with communist run countries...to counter US foreign policy hostility towards us in the cold war era. The key matter is always primarly one of the security threat....regardless of that country's political system.

I mean one can read the US-China thread, even just the last page:

chuckle at some naivete shown again and again, repeating something doesn't make it true.

What is a strategic relationship if its on some MOU? No operationalisation of anything? Its just words in end.

Can Azerbaijan make a proper strategic relationship with PRC if Turkish sentiment is as follows?:

PRC still remembers quite well what "earlier" Erdogan said regarding the uighurs when he would speak up about them and follow developments quite closely. Turkish population certainly remembers the events and it has impressed upon them.

No way to dance around this.

That too this is just a small fraction of what it is with many PRC neighbours....we have direct borders and wars with them.

Reading some of that thread and contrasting it with what just Vietnam's experience (and Vietnamese friends recollections of it) only produces a chuckle as to the naivete on display. Sorry you wouldn't know....would we know something better than you regarding your immediate neighbours?

Surprised at South Korea being so high.

Whys that? It is general east asian reaction to what DC media puts out 24/7....after doing its bit to forment whats going on in US now.

Culturally the East Asian people are quite different in the end....and the US is a huge net security provider for both Japan and South Korea....so their first impression is going to be one of concern in "it was better before".
