Poland is thinking of buying AH-64E Apache helicopters. How many, time will tell.
But for now USA would provide Poland with eight aircraft from the US Army fleet.
""We have an agreement on eight helicopters. They will arrive in Poland when Polish soldiers - pilots and technicians - have been trained. However, I will say cautiously that we are unlikely to complete the training this year. But we will start training as soon as possible. Apaches are great weapons and indeed give an advantage to the army that owns these helicopters. We care about strengthening the Polish military to deter an aggressor. These are the best attack helicopters in the world,""

I really dont think we will be able to buy as much as 96 Apache Helicopters, but we are cleared and max price of 12 bln $ is less then many predicted.

At this rate, Poland is going to bankrupt themselves.

"WARSAW, Aug 5 (Reuters) - Poland's defence ministry signed offset deals with Boeing (BA.N), and General Electric (GE.N)
,
worth nearly 1 billion zlotys ($255 million) on Monday, bringing it closer to finalising a $12 billion agreement to buy 96 AH-64E Apache helicopters.
Offset deals are designed to compensate the country buying arms from abroad through cooperation between the supplier and domestic companies.
The offset agreement with Boeing worth 400 million zlotys ($102 million) will cover maintenance support for the helicopters and AH-64E maintenance training.
The deal with General Electric worth 530 million zlotys ($135 million) will focus on engine support for the Apaches and for power units in other Polish military helicopters."

Deal with Boeing to buy Apaches schould be signed next week.
Even month ago I would laugh at the possibility that we would buy more then 32 maybe 48 Apaches BUT right now it looks like we are all in and really there are plans for all 96.
Well, we'll see next week.

I think its too much and it will be too costly to maitain that number of helicopters, pilots and ifrastructure for it.
But, we'll see. Maybe that number will change.

Poland is preparing for real war. Although, in a real war, 96 helicopters is too little even.

Poland Signs $10 Bn Deal For US Apache Attack Helicopters

Poland has signed a $10 billion deal to buy 96 Apache attack helicopters from US manufacturer Boeing, the Polish defence minister said on Tuesday announcing the latest upgrade to Warsaw's military capabilities.

"This is the landmark purchase by Poland for its armed forces of ... 96 state-of-the-art AH-64E Apache attack helicopters," Defence Minister Wladyslaw Kosiniak-Kamysz told reporters, adding the deal was "worth $10 billion".

WOW, thats a LOT of helicopters. The largest Apache operators so far (except USA of course) is UK with 50 and Israel with 48 and we are buying 96.
Deliveries in 2028-2032

That's an absolute waste of resources. There's alot of other things that 10billion should have been used for, starting with atleast 48 more F35's,attack helicopters are obsolete in today's warfare.

Most people think that but both previous goverment (from opposition) and current government and army wants that so what do we know ....
The truth is that in case of aviation we have to count on support from other NATO members, in case of an ground army (and helicopters are going to the army) there are not many countries that would help.
