Well soon the blame games will start, people will ask who are the responsible. Constructors will be blamed, state will be blamed, government will be blamed etc. etc.

But we have to realize that these things are accumulations of hundreds of years. Where in Turkiye do we have city planning?

These kind of destructions are "invited" fates.

A couple of years ago we had in the blacksea region a city that was wiped away by floodwater, but hey what do you expect when you build a city in a river bedding. Even if that river has dried out and contains no water anymore it does not take to be an Einstein that with extreme rains and snow melting the water will come back (and it did!)

We have to see the truth, building houses on fault lines, land slides and riverbeds will soon or later take her toll. It's like building your house next to an active volcano and say hey the last 200 years there was no eruption. It's risky and foolish, but it is also the reality in our Turkiye. Whole of Turkiye is build without proper planning.

The ironic sarcasm of the story is that this quake is a pre-warning of the earthquake for Istanbul.

The earthquake train is approaching very fast, we know it already for many years but is there any preparation? Nada!

The earthquake victims see both the service that did not come and the service that did come. The people who are struggling to help in the earthquake zone, distributing food, driving vehicles, holding the end of a piece of rubble, have been sleepless and tired for days, but their only thought is to touch one more earthquake victim.

Who is left? People outside the disaster zone. And the community is now at each other's throats on social media. And I am sorry to see that many people are not even concerned about the earthquake, but about defending their party and appealing to the perceptions of citizens outside the earthquake zone. What I have seen in the last 3 days are very disappointing things that multiply my sadness.

Wait, our president called these people-victims who claim relief and aid are not present "sefersiz, haysiyetsiz", just yesterday.
And twitter, whatsapp, instagram's connection was throttled.

It was announced that looting activities would be intervened within the scope of the state of emergency. (so the law enforcement will not get in trouble if they shoot them) This announcement should have been made on the first day. We keep moving in slow motion. There are reports that dozens of points in the area have been looted so far.

For God's sake keep this unnecessary and nonfunctional officials out of the disaster area;

Hearing similar stories from other people who tries to organize deliveries such as; The trucks and buses carrying rescue teams were stopped for awhile for someone's transit.
I admired the dignified stance in the boy's statements. It is hard not to be touched when he says that we earned with our sweat and we will earn again with our sweat, and when he shares his concern about other earthquake zones while he is an earthquake victim. God damn those who fail to organize the organization there and act without caring about these people because an official will come.

No need translation in my opinion.
Blanks are unknown, does not mean there is no personnel of theirs in field.
Numbers are not up to date.

Why BD team is not included? I thought they landed last night.
Could be prepared with the information from yesterday. Uruguay also is not listed (They should have arrived, or about to arrive) .

It is said that the sea water has receded in Hatay on news channels.
Not 100% true. It has started to recede. But still there.
Iskenderun city centre by the sea is still inaccessible due to flooding.
But the worst thing is, no banks, no markets, no shops are open. A lot of citizens have fled the city.
I spoke with people I know who are still in town only a couple of hours ago. I called someone who works in a bank, she told me they are not working. No banks are open. The coastal avenues are still flooded. She said that they are giving a fight for survival at the moment. Still most parts of the city doesn’t have water or electricity.
TCG Sancaktar, according to some news, has arrived in Iskenderun port. That should relieve some of the pressure.

What do you expect from people if the head of the state is like this.
