Do we now how many people dead total just in this complex? I saw numbers 700-850 people died and 70-80 missing people which is believed their bodies probably shredded while moving the rubble.

I know it's pretty morbid, but I saw a video of a dump site for all the rubble and the guy said it's smelling pretty bad.
Sadly, very likely that not all bodies will be recovered (ever).

Good, but it boggles my mind how three people lean over the edge of a building while constructing it.
Why is there no scaffolding? When will we learn to value the lifes of our construction workers.

Its not that high 3 meters or so but still compared to Europe we have a long way to go when it comes to safety.

Also imagine how much energy is going to be needed to heat up the home when it’s so big. Oh well they’ll have something else to worry about.

I know that most probably already forgot about this but what is the final casualties figure? 50-60k is a very, very, very optimistic number that was shown to the public... Are we ever going to know the real number of victims?

I believe the govt announced it to be from 60-70k after around 2 months from the earthquake onset

Two consecutive 7+ magnitude earthquakes which occured while people were sleeping in areas that never experienced earthquakes of such intensity caused a death toll that is higuer than 7 months of fighting in the Ukraine/Russia war. And all of this just happened in a single day..... mother nature is scary

The official numbers is at slightly over 50.000 deceased right now.
Not all the rubble is gone, so there might be another up tick but I think the worst is over.

Dear friend,

It's not nature that's scary. What is scary is the corrupted economic/political system that caused the buildings to be demolished in the earthquake, in which all municipalities, political parties, mafia, construction companies, inspection firms and even ordinary people are in.

I believe its 100K lots of unaccounted deaths too.

The earthquake has also put off the Turkish community in Australia into travelling to Turkiye.

Natural fear as Turkiye is earthquake prone they fear they could also be hit.

It will take time for the country to heal along with people coming to visit. Some have lost family and friends there too lots of people missing most likely dead too.
