For cost effective solutions there is korkut, alka , suicidal drones , EW and jamming

Solutions don't end. For example, FOBs in operation areas are only supplied with helicopters. Terrain is extreme. Korkut, Korkut Mod, Alka etc. as it is, is not possible to airlift. Cirit is in a canister. Affordable enough to stockpile, versatile enough to integrate it to the base as needed. If you make a missile that can be easily modified for C-UAS roles and can use the readily available infrastructure, you take it granted for. I think Sahin 40mm ATOM is one of the best example of this.

In the source, 2+1 different missiles were mentioned in the Siper Area and Air defense system. In the official statement, it was stated that there will be a missile system with a range of 100 km and an altitude of 20 km on the way before Siper missile join to inventory in 2023. In this context, the missile with 100km range does not belong to the Siper family and it is seen that the first Siper missile will have a longer range than this missile.

In this case, it can be assumed that while the Hisar project aims a layered ranges up to 100km, the Siper system aims to gain engagement capability at ranges of 150km and beyond. BMD missile on the other hand will most likely have a different name from the Siper family and I believe BMD missile will turn into a system with exo-atmospheric capability. With this missile, it will be aimed to carry the BMD capability to be gained with the Siper family to much different level.

  • Sungur family: up to ~12-15km
  • Hisar family: up to 100km
  • Siper family: 150km and beyond
  • BMD missile system: 100km altitude and beyond

Thx for clarification, honestly speaking i posted it because timelines mentioned. If i concluded correctly by article you will have all assets ready for production and defence layering by 2023 with additional 2 years for introducing more units for "final layer outlook" which is i think at least year or two earlier then earlier mentioned?

From the good old archives of youtube.

When Korkut was used in Libya. The noise brings chills down my spine.

Meteksan‘s Nazar system, after being completed for land forces, seems to be getting ready for naval platforms as well.
As third and fourth generation IR and IIR missiles and with electro optical guidance systems are becoming big problems for surface platforms, new and novel ways of combatting against these are being worked on.
Meteksan’s Nazar, utilises a low powered laser beam of 2-4 watts and blinds the “eyes” of these missiles, rendering them useless.
It is a technology that is possessed by only a handful of countries. The Vice President of Meteksan has mentioned that the range of this weapon is twice of the current systems we have in hand at the moment.
This last statement is very intriguing. If he means CWIS systems we have, then it is some achievement!

More detailed info on Nazar in the above article. Well worth the read!
Hellfire 2, Brahmos supersonic missiles etc, if they have an EO or IR seeker head, all can be stopped with this system.
This air defence system could prove to be just as valuable to us as Hisar or Siper!
The Vice President of Meteksan is reiterating again that the effective range of Nazar is twice that of a Phalanx CIWS.
With it’s eleven different apertures the system sends different wavelengths to the missile’s seeker head and finds out which is the right wavelength laser to use to blind it. All this is done within seconds. Multiple targets can be engaged as well as one after the other at quick successions.
Beauty of it is that, including the lasers most parts are indigenously produced.
This is an ingenious way to destroy missiles. Rather than a hard kill method with powerful lasers, which are restricted by range and supply of energy, the Nazar system uses low energy lasers to blind the missiles.
The system can be made smaller in the days to come, to fit on, say a drone like Aksungur; Or it can be fitted on a platform like ULAQ.
