Aselsan’s GOKSUR Point Defence Missile System uses a missile that is derived from Bozdogan WVR air to air missile. According to unconfirmed sources it may have a maximum effective altitude of 8 to 9 km which should cover any jet fighters/fixed wing or rotary wing platforms. But it is most effective against sea skimming threats with an effective range stated by Aselsan as 15km. To have 20 missiles ready to use in canisters gives plenty to shoot against saturation attacks. Standard version uses ship radars to target. The stand alone version uses an Akrep 200N Aesa radar to target.

On paper it is a much better and economical missile system than the Rolling Airframe Missile systems we have on our Ada Class corvettes.

Not totally sure if its more economical than ram although i can imagine domestically sourced Göksur is cheaper than RAM. Maximum range of this should be about 15 km. I hope we will see at least the vls version on some of smaller ships then we could take market share from mica and camm.

Poland (2024–2025): Purchased 232 AIM-9X Block II missiles for $175 million total, breaking down to approximately $750000 per missile.
If we are manufacturing the Bozdogan as aim-9X equivalent, it should be cheaper.
Rolling Airframe Missiles cost around 980thousand to 1.1 million each. (We bought under FMS 94 missiles for 920thousand dollars each)

Apart from keeping our foreign currency at home, we will be paying less and any further maintenance costs for the upkeep of the missiles will be done in-house at more economical rates with Turkish labour rates.

japan bought 212 RAMs in 2024 for 360 million dollars. That makes it 1.7 million dollars each. But that included a lot of logistical equipment etc.

I am just a defence industry enthusiast, on his knees in front of a massive defence company, asking Aselsan and Roketsan to adapt similar launchers for other missiles.

I mean, give us this type of launcher for for Cirit C-UAS and Umtas, hell, even Eren.

Russian military publication writes about Turkish weaponry

"Shooting down drones on the move: Türkiye shows firing of KORKUT 25/35 anti-aircraft systems

1793644399133.png

The Turkish company Aselsan demonstrated the firing of the ZSU KORKUT 25, during which the new product, as they say, non-stop, shot down drones, visually similar to the Russian Geranium missiles. According to the developer, this test of the system's operation was the last in a successfully completed series of tests.

The KORKUT 25 was specifically designed to counter small, highly maneuverable, and fast UAVs. It uses 25mm ATOM 25 "smart" munitions that detonate near the target, dispersing their fragments. Electro-optical systems with infrared cameras, an AESA radar, and AI software, which also handles pre-fire ballistic calculations, provide automatic target classification, detection, and tracking.
Aselsan also demonstrated a new variant of a larger-caliber anti-aircraft system, the KORKUT 35, mounted on the new ARMA II 8x8 wheeled armored personnel carrier from the Turkish company Otokar. During the presentation, organized for a delegation from 12 countries, the self-propelled anti-aircraft system fired a 35mm Oerlikon KDC-02 twin revolver-type cannon at drones, apparently stopping, and then, while still moving, at a ground target.

The stated firing range is up to 4000 meters at a rate of fire of 1100 rounds per minute, while the target detection range is up to 70 kilometers. The engagement radius can be increased by installing a launcher for the Igla-S or FIM-92 Stinger MANPADS on the turret (up to 6 meters or 5–7 meters, respectively)"
