Very sad news and inexcusable that we still use 50-60 year old planes.

Yes crashes happen in all militaries, including the US.

But they're still inexcusable. Every crash is preventable, whether through maintenance, training or upgrades/replacement. Civilian airline aviation has gone incredibly safe over the decades, there's no reason why military aviation can't match it under NORMAL circumstances.

This just suggests enough funds aren't being dedicated to maintaining or replacing these old platforms.

Many possibilities come to mind, but it's best to wait for the results of our government's investigation. The possibilities that come to mind are:

1- Maintenance error or negligence,
2- Sabotage of the aircraft before takeoff,
3- Possibility of being shot down,

These options carry many possibilities in themselves. This is a truly tragic incident. Necessary steps must be taken against those responsible. The root of the problem must be addressed.

Detached Wings From Doomed Turkish C-130 Seen Spiraling Into The Ground

The Turkish Air Force C-130E went down dramatically in the country of Georgia as it was returning home from Azerbaijan.

TWZ mentioned that this C-130E was modernized through the ERCIYES MLU program. Is that true?

Looks like replacement is coming earlier than we thought hopefully.
C390 looking good now maybe some extra a400m plus new tankers.
Overall it looks like airforce will need to completely overhaul their logistics fleet.

Im gonna be honest here we shouldnt resort to conspiracy theories unless proven. If mossad wants to hit Turkiye so bad wouldnt they target the Airbus A400s? A400s are much more better and advanced than the C130?

So Turkiye bought the plane from Saudi Arabia. Im not really against surplus as long as its maintained right and properly. Still i would take new over surplus anyday.

I find it stupid how some posters are blaming Saudi Arabia when the purchase happened around 2012 or 2013. Its been 13 years for once lets take responsibility

Official authorities have to do an in depth research to ensure that there are no questions left in our minds. Not only electronics buying people is very easy nowadays, they can easily find someone to do this.
