Bro i have some Algerian friends they love Turkish too much btw, so one day Erdogan went to Algeria and signed some important agrements to improve relationships. That day i start to search about Algerian armed forces and i get shock! THeir armed forces more modern and well equipped than us at some fields! They allways train their army and have colabration with TAF so when i analysed them as equipment and training they are more stronger than Pakistan, Egypt, Iran etc.

They almost equivalent with TAF but they have no experience at the battlefield as you say, if their army join our operations and trained well by our forces, im sure they will be real threat for its enemies.

When i watch their military videos also i noticed that their equipment looks very shiny and well maintained, Algerian army sounds very quiet and deep...

I got same impression though I am probably bit biased because of close Algerian friend of mine here in Canada. One of best well-roudned guys I know in real life actually. Its good to have an Algerian like that as friend because they got your back forever.

One thing I have noticed though is lot of what you gather comes from inside-out way stemming back to the prolonged brutal liberation war Algerians waged against the French.

That stuff stays with you and is not forgotten easily at all (especially its cost) in the military you have later....as the population is very aware of sacrifice that brought them freedom.

It means in any future war afterwards (the whole point of having a military to protect that hard earned freedom), their toughness is guaranteed a very long time.

This drives the sheer grit and professionalism a military thrives on from the inside out (the equipment and training are the next parts that augment this core)

Vietnam is another country I have sensed this too....along with some others.

@Viva_vietnamm actually earlier posted quite interesting on the shared camaraderie on this matter.

To say that they are equivalent to the Turkish armed forces has to be the funniest comment I have read today with all my respect for you brother. They are not more well equipped than any of the branches of the Turkish armed forces. Neither in quantity nor quality in both the way of conducting warfare, and weapon platforms.

The armies of Pakistan and Egypt are also somehow larger, and more well-equipped in all the branches, but the similarity between Pakistan-Egypt-Algeria is that most of their equipment is eastern-based China/Russia.

Bro i read somewhere Algerian army has EW and AWACS plane also they was have some modern western fighter jets and their navy was very well equipped with modern technology but i coundt find those sources again, as you say looks like they equipped with Russian systems according to wiki Russian systems are not realible like western tecgnology for sure...

The source of the equipment doesn't really matter. Pakistan with its Eastern (notably Chinese) sourced weapons are ahead in war fighting among many muslim majority countries which has western dominated arsenals.
Probably one of the best (if not the best) fighting force in all the muslim majority countries.

It's not the source of the tools, but how and what they do with the tool.

Algers culture really close to Turkish people actually many Algerians have Turkish blood, maybe you heared about Kuloglu, Tuaregs and Berbers(Amazigh) connected with Turks origin. Also they love Ottomans becaous of Barbarossa. However they are bravery and kindness people.

We indeed we have a couple of factors when comparing the armed forces of different countries. You have the quality of weapons/quantity, the size of its army, the training+ strategy, as well as the experience of the army. We both are well aware of the technological superiority in most fields between the Western camp, and the Eastern camp..

Segredifesa and Leonardo visiting the industrial area of Setif in Algeria

An institutional visit to Algeria concluded yesterday during which the secretary general of defense and national director of armaments, general of the army corps Luciano Portolano, met his Algerian counterpart, major general Mohamed Salah Benbicha. As part of this visit, a delegation made up of Segredifesa and Leonardo representatives, respectively led by General Portolano and Dr. Pasquale Di Bartolomeo, went to the industrial site of Setif, headquarters of the Joint Venture between Leonardo and EPIC/EDIA. The occasion made it possible to give a further impetus so that all the conditions necessary to make the Joint Venture concretely operational and move on to the industrial phase of helicopter assembly are finalised. In particular, the contingencies have been created to speed up the times for the signing of the ancillary agreements and the order of the first 7 AW139 helicopters of the 70 total (of which 53 for the Algerian market). The Algerian counterpart confirmed the progress of the negotiation and that the Algerian Ministry of Defense itself has already allocated the financial resources to ensure industrial sustainability in the coming years. General Portolano underlined how, also in this case, the synergy between the Ministry of Defense and Italian industry represents an example of the efficiency of the country's defense system.

Considering Algeria uses Russian and Chinese AD systems, how does an American radar even integrate into such AD network?
I don't really know how they technically integrate those American radars with the Russian/Chinese air defense systems ,but it is not the first nor the only American radar in service with the Algerian Territorial Air Defense Forces , American AN/TPS radars have been in service in Algeria since the early 2000s.
Moreover, the Algerian army's C4ISR command and control systems are also American ,and for now the Algerian army relies only on American and Norwegian command/control and communications systems In almost all branches of its armed forces .

A very good choice and upgrade of capacity.
The plane was previously tested in 2013 , Some pro russians military leaders pushed to cancel the deal in favor of acquiring more Ilyushin aircraft, under the pretext , that the MRTT was so expensive , Now with the war in Ukraine and the difficulty of securing more military contracts with the Russians ,the Algerian army finds itself compelled to revive its orientation towards the West, which began during the era of the former Chief of Staff, El Gaid Saleh,In the future, we will see a lot of Chinese and European equipment replacing the Russian one's within Algerian army .

I would expect the West to also increasingly start applying pressure against acquiring Chinese platforms as well.

I guess lets see how it goes.

In any case, the MRTT here gives a much larger return on investment over its full lifecycle compared to Russian fueller.

You pay more upfront, but there are good savings to be had in the longer term relative to the capacity you get....given the vast size of Airbus maintenance and support network it leverages from its commercial side.
