We don't need MBTs, IFVs, manned jets, modern APCs. What do we need exactly? Million TB-3s? We can't say times have changed we don't need that to every platform while not doing anything to adopt to changing times. MBTs times are over because fpv drones with AP warheads, so are we producing any? No, STM will hopefully produce some in the near future. We can't just say times are changing and sit on our hands. Imo MBTs are still relevant but if army thinks otherwise we should replace them with something which we are not doing

Altay’s fire rate is about 6 rounds per minute, and it currently uses the Hyundai-Doosan (Korean) engine and transmission, not the Batu yet.

I’m confused myself. If that sloped structure is supposed to deflect the shot, it didn’t because The round clearly penetrated through. Was it maybe intended to absorb the energy rather than stopping it?

1 - İsrael ( war for syria control or oil/gas around cyprus & Med )
2 - İran - iraq ( future geo-politics can completely change , we can be at war with 150+ million irani- kurdi - iraqi alliance )
3 - Russia ( İf they advance in full war in balkans
4 - Greece
5 - Grecce + EU ( War for gas/oil in Med, Grecce can bring EU Like france and attacks us ....

BMC could have produced the Batu powerpack faster, but the transmission part was delayed around nine months, so it slipped to Q4 2026/Q1 2027. Currently, endurance tests are continuing on the BATU prototype. Being serial production-ready is one thing, and actually getting the product with the BATU powerpack is another. Endurance tests might take 2 years, so even though BMC can be ready for production in Q4 2026, the first tank with BATU might be delivered in 2028.

Yes,we need to be ready but not with just numbers.
We need to have full combat ready systems/platforms with fully trained combat ready personnel.
Having more tanks without trained personnel is a waste of recources.

I never said not to have combat ready and fully trained personnel. My point was specifically meant on numbers for any military equipment.

And one thing is for sure, if we want to win wars "as easy as possible" then we need massive amounts of everything. No ifs and buts.

Some people just are paranoid. 1000 tanks in these times are overkill. Sure we should have the capacity to do so if needed, keep a level strategic stock of ressources, but we dont need to be wasteful.

We already have got enough wheeled and tracked gun carrier vehicles with ATGMs.
Also Turkish UAVs brought new era in combat.
