Isn't that just the leopard body and altay turret from otokar?

If the leotay can be made i honestly support it.

I would rather have 100 Leotays than any M48 or M60 shitbox.

M48s and M60s served the Turkish land forces very well. But now its time for retirement.

A long time was lost in the Altay project due to engine and transmission problems. I'm honestly wondering if this wasted time has worked in the configuration planning of the project to ensure it has the T2 configuration from the start of the first production activities. Maybe not the features that will lead to changes in the design, such as the unmanned turret, the isolated hull ammunition configuration, but for example advanced armor technology and thermal/trace management, laser-guided tank munitions, crew training mode feature, and even wired drone system, and even the augmented reality supported situational awareness capabilities of Bites, which was announced for the FIRAT modernization recently, can be integrated into the tank as of T1?

In short, have the capabilities/systems that are already ready but pending due to the supply problems of some other of the subsystems that hinder the progress of the mbt project, have the integration studies could be progressed separately by using this lost time?

Frankly, I believe that a flexibility should be created in the tender technical specifications, while so much time has been lost.

30x113 RWS??!!!!!!
The tank will use smart ammunitions against drones like M-SHORAD as well as Anti-Personal/ Antimaterial

Americans know their shit, they are good at their shit.

Turkish Armed Forces should pay attention on the 30x113mm cal .
With 30mm smart munition unmanned turret makes even more sense. I hope we could look into developing smart munition for 25mm if possible. We’ve talked about it before, but even if we can’t today, maybe we can tomorrow.

25mm smart munition may have shorter range, but as long as it’s possible there will be more options on the table.

why 25mm? We have our own 30x113 LR RWS. Rather see smart ammunition developed for that.

Certainly. We need to work on this concept too. We haven't been able to mass-produce the tank for years, but at least our radar should be up on what's going on in the world.

This is one of the things I'm curious about. Can a semi-autonomous counter rocket, artillery, and missile capability be achieved with a medium caliber cannon on the turret that moves independently? The one I'm talking about is a kind of mini C-Ram in a way, especially for the top attacks and long range missile attacks. Sorry if that sounds silly, but there seems to be plenty of room for higher asymmetric capabilities and stronger self-defense on the Altay and similar heavy-class tanks with a battle weight of 65 tons. As a matter of fact, as seen above, the Americans managed to fit a 30x113 remote weapon system into the new Abrams package.

Yes I am aware of that. The reason why I wanted to see a potential 25mm is because it’ll weight less and not be so bulky. I know we’ll save weight with an unmanned turret so it shouldn’t be an issue. But it doesn’t sit well with me how it sticks out like a target.

Yes two independent system or one system to manage both. Which is why I was thinking of smaller caliber smart would not stick out so much, and could potentially have a independent firecontrol/sensors.

Turks have proven is last three battles that their UAV Bayractar can lay waste a tank columns just as it did in Ukraine and victory over Armenia etc. and also in Syria.

Hence all tank commanders are thinking about high risks of sending tanks in a battle if overhead UAV or swarm drones with Artificial Intelligence will lay them waste.

In the process lesser queries of sale and purchase of tanks are being received by manufacturers. Everybody wants a UAV.

The first purpose of having the 30mm auto cannon with smart ammunitions could be anti-infantery who are behind trenches, windows etc.

I think the US army won't use it as rapid response CIWS as the biggest threat for the tanks seem slow flying UAVs, kamikadze drones which the turret could engage just in time.

Where??:) İ haven't heard. Please Caps..
Canik bought British AEI systems, which has 30X113 gun.
For this I asked before in another thread the smart munition capability. Apparently, we don't have smart munition for it, I think we should develop one.
