Same goes for Bleach, and Naruto. But I'd have to remind people that anime's normally are full of filler episodes that kinda ruins the overall storyline (IMO).
yep naruto especially. Alot of filler and that was the only way they could stay behind the story allowing for manga and anime to have some distance but one piece and dragon ball z actually implemented a different policy. You see both these anime have alot less filler than their peers like Detective Conan, naruto, bleach and the reason was that they started to extend the fights. The thumb rule is 2.5 chapters for an episode but both dragon ball and one piece employ somewhere between 1 to 1.5 chapters for an episode. So how did they cover it? by extending the fights and this gave a sense of unusual length to a fight like for example Gohan returning in the fight against freiza which didnt happen in the manga or Bulmas adventures on namek when others were fighting the ginyu force.

Its most greatest impact could be seen in one piece in the great war between whitebeard pirates and the marine navy. When an enraged whitebeard jumps forward to face akainu. Now in the entire manga so far, three things had been established

that whitebeard was the only person that was able to rival roger, the king of the pirates

that whitebeard was the strongest man alive and with rogers death, the only one worthy to be called a king

that whitebeard was now old and whether his status as a legend could be degraded due to his age.

Infact before the war, age is shown as a massive concept and this was again highlighted when Rayleigh, roger's first mate and right hand man, fight Admiral kizaru and he mockingly tells him that if he was younger then he could have helped luffy and his friends as well which means that he was confidently stating that at the height of his power, he could fight against a warlord, an admiral, two extremely destructive weapons and a person who knew how to use haki but he was now too old and could only hold his own against an admiral.

You see age of the legends and the end of their era was being brought again and again whereas all of them garp, sengoku are shown to be slipping. Whitebeard as well during the war. Names that would strike fear. So how does this involve the fight between akainu and whitebeard?

Well in that moment, in the manga, whitebeard jumps at akainu, showing a speed that shocks everyone and immediately attacks akainu and pushes him down and injuring him greatly and then in the very next move creating a shockwave that cracks the island and an unconscious akainu falls into the chasm. This was actually a display of his power and the power of the men of the previous era. Two strikes were shown as enough to take down one of the most powerful men in the marines. This was an amazing moment which the anime ruined by stretching it out. They showed it as if akainu was able to hold his own which degraded the legendary power of nearly every character of that age and made rayleigh's words sound like a bluff when in manga, those words became a fact when whitebeard displayed what kind of a power Roger might have weilded and the men that rivaled roger like garp and sengoku.

cant blame them though since some very good animes have been ruined by fillers as their stories became a more mess than they could ever repair however they needed to count their moments and not extend every single fight out there. They actually got the fight between don quixote and luffy right so that was a relief but we again saw weirdness in the fight between luffy and katakuri especially when katakuri reveals his face to his sister. That spit was not part of the manga............

Black Lagoon, if you're into mercenary type of anime.

Or

Full Metal Panic! :D
have seen both. Season three of FMP is entirely school whereas season 2 was pretty good.

Black lagoon is awesome. The relationship between levy and rock is a great watch and the relationship between benny and rock as well. Benny highlights to rock that he shouldnt let this place change him as it didnt change benny however we are seeing changes in rock. He is becoming manipulative more and more and while he is not as insane as levy, he is not the rock that started here. I guess you need to be manipulative and smart to survive there. Its an awesome anime
Have seen all of them and they are all awesome. Attack of the titan is amazing and frankly the twists are so much more fun. Eren's transformation is also amazing as a character. The guy is becoming more cold hearted. loving it.
Watch Bacano, Black Lagoon & Ajin. One of the best I have anime I watched.

And I'm a big fan of the cage of Eden, one-piece, kingdom, Drifters, Akemetsu Mangas.

Bacanno is an amazing story and i love the fact on how its told with pieces of puzzles being put together both past and present as the story goes on. The manga is pretty good as well.
I see black lagoon being mentioned a few times.

Worthy one....I've always enjoyed that part of the world too (Bangkok/Thailand, which iirc was being imitated for the overall locale)...throw in bunch of misfits into a PT boat....good stuff. Liked their approach to that whole russian syndicate too.... ex-afghan war vets....blyat!
thumbs up. The manga is well done as well. Chinese hackers and the CCCP trying to liquidate her is a great read. You would love it. :p
You could always watch the "Monogatari" series to get a "huh?" feeling :)

I have it downloaded but you need two things.

Alot of focus and knowledge of japanese culture. Alot of cultural references.

Gintama is another awesome which has you laughing and crying at the same time. Amazing anime. Lets see if Geko Shojou no Nozaki kun is also another anime but dont expect romance. its centered on comedy and the manga is also more on comedy. Nisekoi was also a good anime and i liked the story. Kaguya Sama love is war is amazing as well. Two people who love the other but dont want to confess first to keep the upper hand in their relationship thus are on an effort to make the other confess first. Its actually pretty good. Lets see ]
iif Attack on titan is loved then i would suggest God Eater and Koketsyojou no Kabeneri. Good animes. Magi the labyrynth of magic is another great anime. I actuially read he manga before and it was amazing and is filled with both political intrigue and concepts of what is superior being. Totally worth a read and watch. Full metal alchemist and fate/stay as well. great watches..

I am surprised nobody has mentioned two amazing anime /mangas. Guys Death Note and Lelouch of Rebellion. These two are amazing and i love it when the lines between hero and villian are blurred. With lelouch, i loved his planning and cold hearted attitude, i mean Akira was insanely apathetic but with lelouch, i loved the fact that he was human and felt pain and wanted to protect the people he cared about but he was wiling to feel all that pain just for his vengeance. He destroyed everything including himself to save everyone, becoming one of the most heroic villians, i have ever seen in anime

When you say DN (Death Note) you’d have to mention Gantz as well, and Lelouche is definitely a must watch, though if we go down mecha lane there are a lot others to mention with mecha.

Truthfully there are just too many to name them all 😆

Cooking, Doctor, sci-fi, mecha, fantasy, historical, drama, swords, guns, cars, football, basket ball, golf, tennis, cars, martial arts etc

I’d pick the manga over anime any time. But sometimes very seldomly the anime comes before the manga.

Being able to read japanese does have it’s advantage as some never get translated fully.

Hayao Miyazaki has given us treasures more in line with our time like how Walt Disney did.

I would say Miyazaki has done far more than Walt to tug my heart strings...the stuff that sticks with you forever.

Classic walt moments that made me tear up and linger in mind are probably dumbo and his mom....and bambi and his mom. The highest "raw" moment in other direction I remember most are the dwarves chasing the evil queen to her just deserts and doom....mostly coz as kid I already knew the ending will be happy one so that felt great to see first time, the thrill.

Not taking anything away from Walt (who often delegated direction/screenplay later and became producer mostly and he died in 1966 so I dont count stuff like fox+hound and lion king epicness as his effort etc)...but that's all kind of amateur level for what Miyazaki has achieved more than dozen times in depth....sometimes multiple times in one movie....and the height in other way with extreme wonder and fascination too. Too many to mention tbh...you forget you are even outside the movie sometimes.

Man is a genius of highest order....and imbued with unbelievable talent at his craft.

One that come close to him in western world was Don Bluth (who is ex-disney guy who had fallout with disney, long story) with "Secret of NIMH" imo....but its pretty much nearly a one-off.

Yes japanese is about 3 times easier than Chinese. It has inflected word structure (rather than precise analytic which make much more rote needed for Chinese) and two of its native writing systems use sound-syllables (if you are interested to read/write). Grammar in both are fairly easy though if you commit, even easier than english I would say....but it depends what you find easy and hard in languages overall.

Learning Chinese (Mandarin) is easy for me now when I spend time, because its grammar is near identical to Cantonese that I already know. My writing/reading needs a ton of improvement though....this is largest stumbling block for time in the chinese languages if you didnt learn that stuff as kid in school etc.

Well, i was about to post this in music section but finally there's an otaku section so cheers!!!! ✌️ 🤟 🥳😊😁 Otakus!! ASSEMBLE!! ✊

So i like to watch alot of anime and one of the recent anime movies, i saw was "koe no Katachi" aka Silent Voice.

Did you watch "Your name", "Garden of words" and movies from studio Ghibli? Watch "Your lie in April". Kinda like Silent Voice.

One punch man was really cool :)

Then you might like Mob Psycho 100. Same artist.

Full Metal Panic! :D

Full Metal Alchemist and Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood. I prefer the latter cause first one seem bit morbid. There's movie too.

Drifter's first episode's scene and opening really blew my mind!! 😍 The manga is really slow though. 🙁

One Piece is an epic, I met with it in early 2000's I think, it was a young relative watching it on TV.

Here is a scene I like the most:

Drifters opening theme was hype as fuck. Never finished watching it but i play the themesong every now and then. I believe Dororo also came out the same season, and that one is awesome aswell.

My man One Piece is still the Shounen King, the current Wano arc is super good and the series has been consistently awesome even though its been running for litteraly decades.

Well, i binge watched all 15 episodes, then moved to manga. Small series like this are fun to watch. Dororo is amazing too. I got to listen some amazing songs from ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION thanks to Dororo, Naruto and Full Metal Alchemist. 🥰 Amazing band. I will try to post all the anime op, ending and OST i have in my playlist later if i can.

You might like Blood C, same samurai and monster stuff in that series too.
