Our army is not like armies fighting on flat plains. Our army has the courage and training to successfully perform the most dangerous missions in the toughest conditions.

Let me share a photograph of the famous American Francois d'Eliscu, who is shown as the founding teacher of modern Turkish Commando units, that I found in the American archives and will be published for the first time. The photo was taken before the parachute jump of the first Guerilla/Commando course held in 1949.

Let me remind you once again with the photo I shared above for those who don't know: The first "commando/guerrilla" badge of the Turkish army was given to the world-famous commando trainer, American Lieutenant Colonel Francois d'Eliscu, for laying the foundations of modern commando training in Turkey.
