The T-129 ATAK Helicopter drew the attention of the world with its outstanding success in tests and operations, and most countries started to be interested.

Afterwards, agreements were signed with Pakistan and Philippines.

However, the USA's difficulties in the export license of the engine delayed the delivery and a statement was made by Defense Industry President İsmail Demir.

SSB İsmail Demir stated that there was no problem in the export process of the T-129 ATAK helicopter to Pakistan and the Philippines.

There are also plans B and C despite any negativity from the USA.

30 agreements were made with Pakistan and 6 agreements with Philippines.

In addition, our Gökbey helicopter will soon start tests with the domestic engine, and the engines will be used in Gökbey and ATAK Helicopters.

I don’t have any info bro. I believe TAI will announce it and prepare a roll-out ceremony for this helicopter in following years.

TEI-TS-3000 (3000hp) is under development phase but I suppose The prototypes may have a foreign engines.

TS1400 turbo shaft engine , although recently measured at close to 1600hp after TEI’s improvements, is not really powerful enough to be used in this helicopter. There is however the t700 engine being manufactured for the T-70 Blackhawks under licence from GE . This engine, in one form another, was used to power US Apache helicopters. They could use them. Or wait until the 3000hp engines TEI was supposed to produce for the Atak2 heavy attack heli.

We didn't see any prototype construction photos till now. It is strange when we know that it must fly until the end of 2020. The same with the situation with the Goksungur UAV

Well that piece is from February 2020 and I think Covid-19 could have delayed the whole process by some weeks/months.

US has been dragging it’s feet in issuing the export licences to Pakistan and Philippines for the honeywell engine, because it sees t-129 as a rival to it’s own helicopter sales. But as soon as we start flying our atak helicopter with TS1400 engine they will release those export licences as they can not afford to lose sales of 80-100 engines.
