I know that Israel and Azerbaijan have good ties, but this is just strange. If true then it means that Israel is well aware of Iranian-Armenian cooperation.

Iran and Russia have always been Armenia's lifeline.

Here is the thing though ; If Russia chooses Armenia over Azerbaijan or vice versa woundt that compromise CSTO even more ? Given that both of them are members of CSTO.

That depends on Turkey's involvement I think. As long as this is Azher vs Armania, Russians might make an intense diplomatic push. Possibly back channel support. Nothing overt.

If I remember the mass swarm of tanks and convoys is part of soviet military doctrine of swarming the enemy. Using numbers also speed while supporting logistics at the same time. Russians basically built themselves simple vehicles that work for their type of warfare so its not surprising to see former soviet countries using their tactics or doctrines.

One thing though. We can't be 100% sure this is an Azeri convoy. Could just be an Armenian convoy wrecked by our drone and the Arminians trying to pass it on as a propaganda victory. Especially, when we consider that the fighting so far has been in relatively flat areas and Azeris would never send unarmoured military trucks into highly contested areas.

When the Turks manage to put indigenous engines in their armored vehicles, the Azeri's have no excuse not to but them.

I'm hearing lots of stories about shot down Azeri helicopters. I'm sure that in the future they should look at Turkish helicopters with Turkish defensive systems, like DIRCM system. Also APS for armored vehicles is a must.

This would allow Azerbaijan to declare war on Armenia, and capture Armenian land. Azerbaijan is capable of it and is probably hoping for Armenia to do something stupid. Also, in such a scenario, Turkey will become more involved.

Which means Russia and its puppet states will be involved according to the CSTO treaty...

If Azerbaijan wants to retake its territory they will have to accept that it have serious losses, as the Armenias have held the area for decades and have planned for such.

Also the initial push through defence lines will have had a high casualty rate. That said, they are past the defence lines now in more than one area, so the only saviour to the Armenians is the International community. And being a Sunday, nobody will bother much about it until tomorrow. So inshallah they will secure their positions tonight and tomorrow will have an upper hand in diplomacy.

Most likely the outsiders will ask them to withdraw in exchange for "serious negotiations."
