If we're still attempting to pursue the Zangezur corridor then we won't want Armenians to leave. The Zangezur corridor depends on the existence of the Lachin corridor for Armenians which in turn depends on there being Armenians in Karabakh. If they leave, we will have zero justification for asking a Zangezur corridor and Armenians will be legally in the right to say no.

This is probably why there are all these initiatives being rolled out like making it so that residents of Karabakh are exempt from all forms of tax for the next 10 years to try and convince the Karabakh Armenians to stay. I suspect it probably won't work and most of them will leave anyway which means that we can forget about getting the Zangezur corridor and just have to hope that relations with Armenia are improved enough that we can achieve safe and hassle-free transport agreements through Syunik in the future.

You do know that there is no longer a “Lachin corridor” since 23 April 2023, right? It’s Lachin road for all intents and purposes, with an Azerbaijani border checkpoint.

Btw, even Russian peacekeepers are inspected when crossing in either direction. Both individually and their vehicles and cargo.

So was the corridor never actually agreed to in writing? Basically he said she said sort of thing and we wait to see how things pan out? If it was agreed to, it shouldn't matter whether Armenians choose to stay or leave, that's on them. But if it were never agreed to in any substantial way, then yeah maybe a problem.

I don't believe it was in any writing, but I can't remember.

Thats probably the reason why they decided to evacuate Karabakh, cutting Turkey and Azerbaijan off is more important than a mountainous region.

Brothers, i have an idea that might sound crazy, but if azerbaijan wanted to take zangezur region without Iran intervening, Iran should be distracted by fighting Afghanistan so that Iran would be depleted like russia is depleting by the war in ukraine, and then azerbaijan won't have a problem taking zangezur.

a connection between Azerbaijan and Nakchivan is mentioned in 2020 agreement. The connection shall be controlled by Russians.

It is widely believed (also due to Russian statement) that the term corridor was used and agreed upon verbally

Keep believing in fairytales... without Turkish troops on the ground close to the Russian “peacekeepers” nothing of this will ever happen. Russians will never leave this areas ever again (you will see that Armenians won’t leave Aghdam, Kelbejer etc by the end of November too). They will use them to create an Abkhazia 2.0 on Azerbaijani soil. In the meantime they will use the so called peacetime to prompt Armenian forces more and this time Armenoids will attack back under Russian umbrella- the early 90s all over again. That can happen in a week, in a month or in a few years- but it will happen. Be sure about it.

If the agreements signed last night are really ever implemented and the Russians really leave Hankendi in 2025 I will cut my dick!
hello i am from the future; armenians left karabakh and azerbaijan flag is above khankendi.

Back when Armenians were congratulating Russian backed separatists.

Honestly these two faced shit heads are maybe some of the worlds most aggressive liars and propagandists out there. All they spew is the same tired bullshit about ethnic cleansing. Never mentioning their aggressive attitude that got them served. Never telling anyone about their territorial demands on neighbours, never mentioning "new wars for new terrortories" agenda they thought they were going to enact. Now these cowards were defeated in a 1 day war, they scream lies to the entire world.

If this was a different age, they would have already lost everything and no one would have batted an eye. Start stupid wars, get a reality check. Moving forward these racist cowards are not going to change course, Azerbaijanis and Turks must be vigilant because terrorism is going to follow just like it did last time they got out of line.
And i don't mean the people just in those countries if you live in the west keep an eye out that these people don't attack you or your businesses. Don't become a victim to one of these radicalised mentally poisoned fanatics.

At the beginning of this year or at the end of last year, Azerbaijani military expert Agil Rustamzade said that Iran threatens Azerbaijan. During the 44-day war, the Persians massed military forces near the border with Karabakh. Iran traded drugs through Karabakh; according to Rustamzade, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps grew rich in drug trafficking.
But at present, Armenia is more drawn to France rather than to Iran. Because of Pashinyan’s craving for the West, Russia and Iran turned their backs on Armenia.
Pashinyan is extremely hated by many Armenians for his defeat in Karabakh and is depicted wearing a Turkish hat.

Its more that dynamics in the region have changed. Russia is burying herself in Ukraine she cannot afford a wider conflict with Azerbaijan which defacto brings Turkiye into the mix. Iran as always is a poser.

Once Russia entered the Ukrainian fiasco, Armenians should have been wise and done everything to behave. Because if Russia couldnt do much pre Ukrainian failure, there is next to nothing they can do 2 years into that failure.

Believe me only thing stopping Azerbaijan is the USA, nobody else is able to do so. EU would most likely put economic sanctions but nothing beyond that, neither Russia nor Iran have military capability to stop Azerbaijan, much less with cover from Turkey.

A couple of interesting developments.

1. Turkiye's foreign minister "Inappropriate advice from the West will bring more chaos and tears to Armenia".

2. Azerbaijan's foreign minister "Armenia must provide the Zangezur Corridor".

3. Erdogan will meet with Aliyev in Nakchivan tomorrow to discuss the Zangezur Corridor

4. Armenian soldiers and civilians have started to leave Karabakh. According to armenian source all ethnic armenians will leave Karabakh. Tbh this is the best outcome for Azerbaijan.

It really seems like this conflict will soon enter the next phase, which will be a direct confrontation between armenia and Azerbaijan on the Zangezur corridor.

@Mods, Will you update the thread title as the conflict going forward is between armenia and Azerbaijan as the Karabakh issue has been settled.

They have a choice they can stay or leave.

Most will leave all I can say is tough luck.
