In Modern practice,It also up to the physical appearance. Some Blonde Turks like Atatürk or İpek Filiz Yazıcı can easily though as White in daily life but some Turks look like Ömer Toprak maybe saw as Middle-easter.
Ömer Toprak looks white to me. As I said, most Middle-Easterners are white.
There is this nonsense idea that whites are only Scandinavian, Anglo-Saxons, Slavic and Germanic people, which is absurd. Latin Europeans are also white, and they look very much like turks, lighter skinned arabs, persians, etc.
Being white doesn’t mean being blonde. Portuguese, Spanish, Italians, Romanians, Albanians, Greeks are all white, and they are not blonde.
This who is white debate is pointless. When one says white it generally means european/western. We Turks are not western and only peripherally European. (edit: by not western I mean every major western society refuses our 'westernness' no matter how hard we try and that's what matters)
White does not mean European, and European does not mean Western.
There are white people in Australia, and they are neither European nor Western.
Is Eastern Europe “Western”?
Are Argentina and Uruguay “Western”? They are surely white and not European.
Being white doesn’t mean having a specific culture. It’s about the skin tone and facial appearance.
Turks are not white neither are they Fully Asian. I seen lots of Arabs who had white skin or even olive skin so not all of them are brown. Same story with Armenians. Armenians and their Christianity is more closer to Middle Eastern Christianity rather than the European ones like Catholics, Protestant amd Orthodox.
A lot of turks, arabs and persians are white. Not all of them, but many of them. When it comes to arabs, those in Northern Africa are more brownish, while those from the Middle East are mostly white. You can’t say arabs from Mauritania or Sudan look like arabs from Syria or Lebanon.
Lots of Turks who look middle eastern thats nothing wrong with that. My dad is even mistaken for an Arab or even a Mexican at times. This is normal. Thats why you cant put Turkish people in one racial category from region to region you will get different appearances. You will also have lots carrying Central or Far Eastern appearances.
Considering Turkey’s geographical position, it is natural to have people of diverse origins. But if you take the Marmara region for example, the people look just like in any other Southern European country.
Azerbaijanis themselves are a mix of Turkic, Caucasian and Iranic peoples.
Yes, and they are mostly white.
We are going off topic but the Armenians have this much support due to their religion this cant be denied. Oessetians are Christian mostly I dont see Europeans constantly vouching for them.
Armenians have a powerful lobby in the US and France. They have a strong diaspora in Europe, and this is why they have support.
