Marines are trained like army infantry but with extra training on sea and the shores. They are just as effective as an average infantry men on land, if not better.

A strong Turkey will not longe be part of NATO alliance. Best thing what can happen to Russia. This price Russia would pay. Even in this situation. Turkey will not be „stronger“ than Russia and will still need partners in their region like Russia.
