15000 new troops will be recruited in BGB in 5 years. Another training center KFF, is under construction in Chuadanga. After the construction of new BOPs and border roads, distance between two BOPs will be reduced from 10km to 5km. For the first time, 2736 new recruits including 128 female soldiers of the "96th recruit batch" got training on newly inducted ATGM and "rappelling & fast roping" from helicopter.

Many overlook BGB’s role beyond border guarding. It manages smuggling control, riverine terrain challenges, and coordination gaps, where real issue is ground-level communication, not manpower alone.

A new Border Outpost (BOP) has been inaugurated in Mauchosha under Birol upazila of Dinajpur to strengthen Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) operations in securing the frontier and preventing smuggling and other cross-border crimes.

The outpost was inaugurated today (16 April) by BGB North-West Rangpur Region Commander Brigadier General ASM Nasher, who hoisted the national flag, according to a BGB-42 media statement. He also planted a mango sapling on the BOP premises.

Despite the presence of adverse conditions, Nasher stated that BGB remains operational 24/7 to protect sovereignty and prevent illicit activities along the border. He noted that special check posts have been set up to curb smuggling of fuel and edible oil, and intelligence surveillance has been strengthened.

He expressed hope that cooperation from local communities and objective media reporting would help reduce border crimes to zero.

The new Mauchosha BOP, which is situated near the zero line between Kishoriganj and Ramchandrapur BOPs under Dinajpur Battalion (42 BGB), will assist in the prevention of drug trafficking, human trafficking, and unlawful infiltration, according to him.

The security operations across the roughly 99-kilometre border under Dinajpur Battalion (42 BGB) are anticipated to be further enhanced with the addition of the new outpost.

Senior officials, including Dinajpur Sector Commander Colonel Mohammad Faisal Hasan Khan and Battalion Commander Lieutenant Colonel Abdullah Al Moin Hasan, were present.
