We shouldn't look at it from the point of view of flirs. Wescam flirs are not a big deal. There are lots of alternatives and Aselsan is developing its equal called DASS, which should be ready by the end of this year.
Much more important issues are Hürkuş which sports a Canadian engine and the strategic Airborne stand off jammer, (Hava Soj) where Aselsan and TAI are using a Canadian platform to integrate Aselsans EW system on.

Yes Hürkuş is using a Pratt and Whitney engine.

Hava SOJ will be ready year 2023 like everything else .
The Canadian planes are already here.

Canada is a good partner of Turkish defence industry and they are enjoying with deals they have secured. The last decision to ban exporting military related systems to Turkey can not be sustainable because the quantity of the products Turkey is ordering is very high. No other country can replace us. At present, We are negotiating to sell 48 Tb2 more for Ukraine and 38 more Tb2 for Azerbaijan. These numbers mean 48+38 more Canadian Flir in a short time period. No need to mention Hava-Soj aircrafts and Hürkuş serial production period. For the sake of a group of Armenians, No country can abandon such a big income. If they make a mistake, They know that we will replace their products with national equivalents.

Biggest issue is subsystem parts (electronics) we use from Canada. They dont give export license, our projects get delayed for months until alternative is found.

Hurkus engine wouldnt be a issue it uses civilian engine.

HAVASOJ is based on Bombardier 6000 which is based on a civilian business jet (uses civilian engines) and majority of electronics is from Aselsan.

Is there any AEW&C system under development in Turkey? Or elsewhere in the Middle East? Arab countries ? And the region? None that I know of. AEW&C systems provide superior situational awareness to fighter jets and act as a force multiplier.

Another one would be jewish lobby....but Turkey would need to improve relations with Israel significantly to say how they have been in the past.

If that's done Armenian lobby is effectively hemmed in.

Thereby confirming that we're killing off our own industry because we can get it from Canada.

Imo this is too much of a repeat of history.

Our own products are not as good as we claim so we buy from Canada.
