I’m currently on a tour in Dubai and had a small but frustrating issue recently that made me think about how dependent everyday finances are on access and timing. I needed to confirm my FAB bank balance over the weekend to manage some routine expenses, but the branch I usually visit was closed.

In a place like the UAE, where a lot of people work across different schedules and industries, including logistics, security, and contract-based roles, timing matters. Not being able to quickly verify your balance can affect planning, payments, or even short-term commitments. I realized that, outside of going to a branch during working hours, it’s not always obvious what the most reliable way is to check an accurate, up-to-date balance.

For those living or working in Dubai, what’s the most practical way you handle this? Do you rely on digital channels, ATMs, or something else that consistently works even on weekends or public holidays? Interested in hearing how others manage this from a real-world, day-to-day perspective.

That’s a pretty normal situation in Dubai, especially over weekends. If internet banking is already active, that’s usually the easiest way. When it isn’t, FAB ATMs still work fine for balance checks even when branches are closed, and phone banking can help if your details are registered.

I’ve also found it useful to keep a simple reference for the official balance-check options, particularly for salary cards. A colleague pointed me to https://fbbalancecheck.ae/ for that, as it just lays out the standard FAB methods in one place. You can use other methods specified on this website to check your account balance... hope that helps!
