One of the problems with Turkey was that it is a democratic republic thus the political institutions were always treated as a thing that is used to make money while you are in office. the Chinese system works differently they are not a real democracy like Turkey. The Chinese government sees the state as something that is a part of itself thus increasing the power of the state is increasing its own power.
in other words, the perception of ownership of the state by the government led the Chinese government to push for economic activity that will empower the state and thus themselves, will most Turkish governments make short-term policies to favour only their rent-seekers over the state as there was no merging of the state.
Now that said the Chinese government isn't perfect but and they have a lot of corruption but it is still
less than Turkey.
It also helps that their population makes up 17.72% of the world's population, thus giving them the ability just to throw people at a problem till it goes away.
That said I want to make it clear that I'm not saying that Republics can't work I'm saying that political institutions need to be built around the people and culture not out of some Francophile obsession. The Turkish people were never suited for the type of government that Ataturk wanted to set up, thus the constantly corrupt political actors over the years.
I think we might have gone off-topic too much.
