Turkish defence products selling like hot bread nowadays.
I don't like this kind of reporting. While we would expect the next two corvettes being Adas due to commonality, due to budgeting, financing and other reasons they very well maybe from other builders as well. There's nothing certain if the two possible future ships will be Turkish built or designed.

However, Ukraine did originally wanted to order up to 4 ships. First would be built in Turkey and fitted in Ukraine, and others would be built in Ukraine after the Mykolaiv shipyards were to be renovated by STM.

Pointless if the war doesn't end, so I guess they are sure it is about to end, and want to use their yet ongoing stream of financial support for weapons to lay foundations of a navy they have to rebuild. 4 Ada class, more usvs and some small submarines would provide them some safety and defense against remaining black sea fleet. But in the case of a ceasefire or truce, will russian ships be allowed to enter black sea?

"Gökhan Uçar, Vice President of SSB:
We are currently discussing a very big project with Spain. They want to participate in a very big project of ours.
Serbia also wants to participate in a very big project of ours.
The British want to work with us a lot."

These don't mean anything by itself, but the Spanish claim there is interesting. Could be the Hürjet, or the MUGEM? Hürjet is what directly comes to mind and we know from the Spanish sources they want to have a direct hand in it, at least putting in their own stuff if they are going to buy it, which would require participation into the project. Aircraft carrier is one other possibility and there are no claims for it exists but mine, but, they have been talking about a sibling to Juan Carlos I for more than a decade now. They were unable to fund it due to budgetary reasons in the past. A joint development would lower the cost of the program for us immensely.

some Spanish companies have long been TAI suppliers for some relevant components.

Yaşar Güler, Minister of National Defense:

  • Including the allocatings to the Defense Industry Support Fund for defense and security units, an appropriation of 1 trillion 608 billion liras is foreseen for 2025. (approx. USD 45.7 billion at today's free market exchange rate)
  • In 2002, only 62 defense projects were carried out with a foreign dependency rate of 80 percent, while today, the number of projects has increased 20-fold to 1132 with a localization rate of up to 80 percent.
  • By the end of 2023, the turnover of the defense and aerospace sector reached a total of $15.5 billion. Defense and aerospace exports amounted to $5.5 billion in 2023. In the first 11 months of 2024, exports reached 5.8 billion dollars. Today, we are at a point where we export some qualified products that we could not buy in the past.
  • The number of countries to which we export our defense industry products has increased to 185, and the variety of products exported, especially UAVs and UCAVs, land vehicles and naval platforms, has increased to approximately 230, and Turkish defense industry products have started to take the forefront in the global league.

A telegram channel says North Macedonia decided to further increase its defence supply from Turkiye. It says Turkiye will have a big piece from the cake within the scope of the country's 10-year defense procurement plans. (No claims)

And we see a compact launcher for Çakır, at last. They are not making use of existing ATMACA launchers anymore and it seems as compact as Marte-ER's.

It only makes sense. Lots of potential there to disrupt the market for FACs. I'm thinking in the next few years we will see a helicopter launched variant as well to replace aging Martes and Penguins.

A little typo there mate 😄 (not your fault, the original had the mistake)

Can't open the pictures in the link for some reason, how did they place the Sungur launchers?
Nah, he did call it a "beautiful launch system" :)

I don't love the photos so didn't post it originally but here are the best ones. Sungur launcher is atop the bridge. Looks similar but different than the previous Vuran based Sungur launcher.

Interesting placement, but then again, ship looks like it is filled to the brim so must be the only logical place. Reloading it might be a pain in the ass though.
