Because I don't care enough to do it mate. There is no other mention of it anywhere else, so it looks like someone in a forum said something and twitter ran with it.
If you use rationality or logic this ''1300 drones'' amount can only be true if Italy produces them for all EU countries.
Btw,if so it can never be the TB-2,maybe they will develope a new better/bigger one.
For European standards the TB-2 isnt enough.

As long as the engine on that drone is also produced fully in Türkiye, I don't care what they develop. the capability to make it must be in Türkiye as well. producing and exporting elsewhere shouldn't be hindered by EU politics.

of course some components that are EU could be a hindrance.

If you make it in the EU,the EU countries wont object to buying it but if you do it in Türkiye, many(Western European countries) will not want any just because of that.

First there has to be a tender, and they will have to win the tender first. But most likely good chances of winning.
Right! But „indigenous“ companies are preferred. And as the German foreign minister said 2 days ago, we will pay all the military stuffs 😃

Yeah, we might see some looser tender rule enforcements in the near future. One of the reasons why Europe is lacking behind, is bureaucracy after all.

Denmark has already made moves to remove the hurdles and given the Highest ranked officer responsible for the armed forces powers to requisition stuff, the parliament still wants to be involved in the decisions, so even then they don't want the Generals doing all the purchases without consulting the Parliament.

Kinda wise decision especially if the General has a US fetish, or Israel fetish of sorts.

Or corruption.

“But the report also includes lesser-known cases, such as a privately funded trip for two Irish MEPs to the headquarters of Hashd al-Shaabi, an Iranian-backed, Russian-allied militant organization in Iraq, to criticize US and European military action in Iraq.”

Not sure of reliable it is, but Greek media is reporting that we're in talks with Croatia for the export of Corvettes.

Not sure of reliable it is, but Greek media is reporting that we're in talks with Croatia for the export of Corvettes.

"Diplomatic circles confirmed to enikos.gr the exploratory discussions between Croatia and Turkey for the construction of 2 to 3 ADA corvettes. The same sources reported that representatives of the manufacturing company “Savunma Teknolojileri Muhendislik ve Ticaret” (STM) recently met in Zagreb for meetings. The Turkish Embassy there is said to play a special role, which has already made exploratory contacts with the Croatian Minister of Defense. The discussions follow the visit of the Turkish Corvette Burgazada to Split last October.

...Turkey is said to maintain its lead with its main weapons, the lower cost (250 million per corvette instead of 300-500 million that the corresponding proposals from the competition cost) and faster delivery (they already have one that they would have given to the Ukrainians but could not due to the Montreux Convention)."

Unsure about this but an interesting claim. Piece is hardly anything to write home about, claiming Ada Class was started in 2015 and is based on Freedom Class LCS and that Turkey doesn't deliver Ivan Mazepa to Ukraine because of Montreux, instead of you know, the Russian Black Sea Fleet. Maybe the "European customer" we read about a month or two ago wasn't Romania.

This is very critical. If Turkish companies, which can offer fast, efficient and quantity solutions to meet Europe's defense and security needs, are included in EU defense programs, this could pave the way for Turkiye to become a production hub and provide a very important plus factor for Europe in military capacity building and transformation.

This possible strategic cooperation will also be mutually beneficial for the EU to take concrete and swift action to strengthen its overall defense preparedness, reduce its strategic dependencies, and address critical capability gaps, as set out at the last summit. It is win-win. But at the same time, it is a situation that countries that compete(or dont want new player) with the Turkish industry instead of cooperating with it would never want. I think this issue is also a litmus test for the EU. The agenda of those who are strongly opposed to EU-TR defense cooperation is certainly not related to EU interests.

The Greeks and S. Cypriots will block us out of any procurement that is EU led or financed.
Otokar has a factory in Romania, Nurol in Hungary (?), Baykar soon in Italy. Thats our backdoor.

Yes, but every single country has the right to choose his own weapons, doesn’t matter from whom.

Did they not change that not that long ago? Because Hungary was blocking procurement for military hardware meant for Ukraine or something like that so they changed how the rules work?

Am I remembering wrong?

Also greece or south cyprus blocking procurement meant to arm Europe against Russia and to help Ukraine would blow back very hard on those two states, they are pretty much at the mercy of the EU. I would love to see that one play out honestly.

The Greeks and Cypriots have been encircled and Turkey already cooperating with Italy, Spain and Great Britain in bilateral trade and the arms industry.
The French and Germans will have to cooperate with Turkey sooner or later.
But then under our conditions, no more political sanctions, no more embargoes, and at least on an equal footing.
Turkey will continue to develop its own Weapon Systems and Subsystems because it doesn't trust anyone anyway - too much has happened in the past.

The EU needs armaments, Turkey can supply them through cooperation (joint venture) and production by its partners, and its own production facilities. Europe must cooperate, it does not want to isolate itself, like every country in the world it wants to have several options in the end.

Yes if they want to use their own budgets. If they want to use EU funds(which most of the EU countries prefers) they are practically limited to EU countries for procurement.
