I really don't think TB2 is <90% Turkish, but yes. It's unclear if Turkey (still) being a candidate country puts us in a better spot than say Korea and whether we should sign a defence treaty with EU.

So you don't believe the 93% Turkish made declaration, while I do.
With the new Baykar TM100 engine it will probably go to like 97%.

Bangladesh, Turkey aim for joint defence production facilities in Chittagong and Narayanganj

Dhaka and Ankara are working to prepare a Defence Industrial Working Group that will supervise and manage “planning, policy alignment and execution” of all future military projects.

Even as the Bangladesh Army continues to procure military hardware from China, decision makers at the country’s industrial development authority or BIDA have evinced strong interest in building defence industrial complexes in Chittagong and Narayanganj with Turkish collaboration.

This was discussed at length by BIDA Executive Chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun with his Turkish hosts during a five-day visit to that country. Harun’s trip included a visit to the government-owned Makine ve Kimya Endustrisi (MKE) located at Kirikkale in Turkey’s Central Anatolia region.

Harun’s visit was aimed at developing deeper strategic defence ties with Turkey aimed at co-production, technology transfer and capacity building. It is said that Harun and his other BIDA colleagues were “granted rare access” to MKE’s manufacturing floors, test grounds and classified briefings on artillery systems, energetics and small arms.

This is not the first time that Bangladesh has engaged with MKE. These acquisitions centred around the MKE Boran 105mm howitzers, 18 pieces of which were procured late last year with plans to expand the total units to 200 in the future.

Defence ties between Bangladesh and Turkey deepened in 2018 when as many as 15 different types of military hardware, including the Bayraktar TB2 drones, were procured from Turkish manufacturers.

While the latest engagement with MKE is expected to boost industrial integration, any future defence collaboration would be governed by the Bangladesh Economic Zones Act 2010. This legislation offers investors a slew of incentives, including tax holidays, duty exemptions and “operational latitude”.

With such incentives, BIDA is said to be evaluating “dedicated defence industrial clusters” in Chittagong and Narayanganj, which have port facilities or are close to river channels linked to the Bay of Bengal. MKE is expected to send technical evaluation teams to Bangladesh to conduct site surveys at these two locations.

There are reports that Bangladesh and Turkey are prepared to enter into formal negotiations for a realising a memorandum of understanding besides institutionalising a Defence Industrial Working Group which will supervise and manage “planning, policy alignment and execution”.

Will/Can Assan Group get a piece of this cake?

Great Britain plans to build at least six new factories for the production of weapons and explosives.

"The hard-won lessons from (Russian President Vladimir) Putin's illegal invasion of Ukraine show that a military is only as strong as the industry behind it," said Defense Minister John Healey in a statement. "We are strengthening the United Kingdom's industrial base to better deter our adversaries and to keep the UK safe at home and strong abroad," Healey said.

The investments amounting to two billion dollars will be included in the Strategic Defence Review (SDR), a ten-year plan for military equipment and services. The SDR is scheduled to be published on Monday. In addition, up to 7,000 long-range weapons manufactured in Great Britain are to be procured, according to the Ministry of Defense. In total, the announced measures will create around 1,800 new jobs, according to the Ministry of Defense.

The additional investments mean that Great Britain will spend around eight billion dollars on ammunition during the current legislative period, according to the Ministry of Defense.

We know that Greece will use all its „influence“ to hold us out of any contracts with any European country.

We know that Greece will use all its „influence“ to hold us out of any contracts with any European country.
Greece is opposed to European defense funds—i.e., funds from the joint EU budget—being used to purchase Turkish weapons systems.

However, Greece has no significant influence on strategic cooperation decisions made by other countries such as the UK, Spain, or Italy. These countries have neither a strong Greek lobby nor a significant diaspora that could influence political decisions.

Furthermore, the UK is no longer a member of the European Union and is therefore not subject to the requirements and restrictions of the Brussels institutions.

In addition, Turkey is deliberately concluding bilateral cooperation agreements with individual EU member states such as Spain and Italy, thereby deliberately circumventing the EU as a whole. This means that such agreements take place outside the European institutional framework. Greece can do little to counter these developments.

If such arms purchases appear necessary, they are financed from the national budgets of the respective countries. This is often followed by indirect refinancing via the European single market or through returns from EU funds. Since the exports originate from an EU country, Greece has neither legal recourse nor political leverage to exert influence in such cases.

That's interesting to say the least. I'm sure there's a Czech company out there to supply the radar. This would be a very interesting program, we haven't heard anything about it. Surely not a joint project, as we have no radars for an airborne platform for now and and there's no way they choose to start such a big project with foreign radars for TurAF. So Havelsan is expected to be a contractor or a subcontractor for an Indonesian AWACS program.

Let's see.
* A Czech company sealing and delivering an Israeli radar would have been the accurate way of describing the chain.

HAVELSAN is a software company for the most part and currently there is no AWACS in production at least we know only a program from Baykar but that will most likely use Leonardo stuff.
If they want an awacs they would need a plane first and then a cooperative with aselsan and HAVELSAN
Why would it be Leonardo?
