Very interesting discussion between the Turkish ambassador in Romania and a defence based tv channel. Lots of rumours about of extensive military cooperation ( Tulpar, Altay tanks,drones, ammunition, etc).

This was a great talk on a macro level on relationship between the two countries; less so on defence directly. Which is okay, he's just an ambassador.

One question, on Hisar, they refer to the ship as Ushora/Uşora. Is this going to be the new name of Akhisar, is it finalized?

Usoara means light in Romanian....basically, the ambassador says " light corvette ", in Romanian
In the Romanian Navy,the Hisar is seen as a quick stop gap between an OPV and a corvette....a light corvette, they call it.


Interestingly, trade volume between Pakistan and Turkey was 1.4 billion dollars in 2024.....trade between Romania and Turkey is 11 billion dollars this year....speaks volumes about the real world vs slogans.

Considering the X country demanding Kale develop a cruise missile engine for them, maybe we can narrow down our search criteria to a “developed” Western country without an indigenous cruise missile of her own.

widen out our filter for any developed Western country known to have produced at least one indigenous missile in the past but considering a new one with a new engine

Given the fact that military industrial relations between Turkey and Spain at the highest level ever and running smoothly so far, wouldn’t be surprised if that’s the case.
