Wonder if it is related to C-295.

I found this news article:

Does not really make sense, does it? Why would Morocco make a deal with India to produce an aircraft that belongs to Airbus? I hope personally that it's related to another aircraft that has been on my wishlist for the past 12 months😄

From India, there is a proposal to jointly produce a complete aircraft in Morocco.

Sanjay Rana, the Indian Ambassador to Morocco, revealed that advanced discussions are underway between Rabat and New Delhi to expand industrial and defense cooperation. This cooperation goes beyond the inauguration of the manufacturing plant in Berrechid by Tata last year. It includes an ambitious project to jointly produce a complete aircraft in Morocco.

@Nilgiri

Wonder if it is related to C-295.

I found this news article:

If it's something pursued under the Tata Group, I'm wondering if it might be related to the Grob G180 SPn. Tata purchased all the IP rights of this plane from Grob Aircraft a while ago, so now only Tata can authorize its construction.

If they're talking about any Indian aircraft (not under Tata), it could be any one of HAL's or NAL's IPs. Wish they said what kind of aircraft it is (fixed wing, rotary wing, civil, military?).

They did not specify if it would be a civilian or a military aircraft. There are no indications as of now, but we are aware that India has offered major military platforms to Morocco. Since the Indian ambassador to Morocco mentioned it openly, it means that a deal is possible between the two nations. I wish for MK2, it would be a dream for sure.

This partnership reflects the Kingdom of Morocco's decision to deploy next-generation autonomous air defense capabilities at scale from 2026 onwards and to build a sovereign, technologically advanced defense industrial base. Harmattan AI will contribute its expertise to support three key objectives:

  • Establish manufacturing capabilities in Morocco to produce autonomous defense systems;
  • Create an ambitious Research & Development centre dedicated to artificial intelligence in defense systems on Moroccan territory;
  • Develop partnerships with Moroccan higher education and research institutions.

Mouad M'Ghari, CEO and co-founder of Harmattan is of Moroccan origins.

The Kingdom of Morocco is on its path to revive its maritime heritage

The biggest shipyard in Africa, the Casablanca shipyard, was inaugurated in September 2025 with a total investment of 300 million USD.

The lifting platforms would be able to construct six medium-sized warships up to approximately 5,000 tonnes simultaneously, as well as a dry dock that is 244 x 40 meters with a 9,000 tonnes of capacity.

The bidding process (international tender for the 30-year operating concession) has been ongoing for about 14–15 months. The deadline of the tender is rumoured to end by this year 2026.

HD Hyundai have offered a tripartite consortium to win the bid, allying itself with the Moroccan construction company Somagec and the Turkish shipyard Kuzey Star Shipyard...” Minhyo Park (Head of Naval Ship Marketing at HD) mentioned that the Moroccan Navy is interested in the offshore patrol vessel (OPV), and that Morocco wishes to build it at the Casablanca naval shipyard.”Minhyo Park also mentioned that Hyundai has offered to construct OPV's at the Casablanca shipyard.
