The current account, which had a deficit of $5.15 billion in February, posted a deficit of $5.55 billion in March. The current account balance posted a deficit of 18.1 billion dollars in the first quarter as the rising energy cost significantly increased Turkey's imports.

. Current account deficit reaches its highest level in 4 years

The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) published the balance of payments statistics for January. Accordingly, the current account deficit increased by $5.34 billion compared to the same month of the previous year and amounted to $7.11 billion. As a result, the twelve-month current account deficit became 20.22 billion dollars.

A brand dies with a single word of an economy genius. Turkish is not same with Turkey.. "Turk" (ish) means Turk. Nobody asks why this guy decides everything in the country then complain about downfall of the economy or blame outsiders. Changing name in aviation is a very risky move and complicated.

Honestly, I would have accepted Turkiye Airlines but going with a full out Turkish name when most of its passengers dont even know Turkish is stupidity

AKP wants to turn Turkiye into a multicultural ummah with a light sharia rule governed by a Caliph. Things were going really well on that front until PKK wanted independence (PKK was emboldened by the peace process, AKP accepted PKK autonomy in peace process talks but PKK wanted everything just a little short of full independence) and FETÖ wanted to make Gülen the Caliph by completely taking over the state. CHP wants to turn Turkiye into a multicultural socialist haven where being Turk is a shame. They are ready to accept YPG as a state in Syria and discuss autonomy for southeastern Turkiye. Y-CHP=Democrats in the US.

And please tell me what’s the point of doing that ? Are Turks dumb enough to not understand that Turkish Airlines literally means Türk Hava Yollari in English ? Like for god sake what’s the purpose of doing that ? Aren't there more important things to do ? And now THY would have to spend money unnecessarily just because the sultan wants to.
