After the election, all Borsa Istanbul shares turned green. BIST 100 increased 4%, Technology index 5%, Banking 4%, Participation index 5%, Construction index 5%, Metal 5%, Mining 5%, Holding and investment index 4%. It looks like it is turning into a mini rally. The price was very depressed in the uncertainty of the election, if BIST 100 can break 5500, its peak in March, it may break the downtrend since the beginning of the year and turn bullish again.

He has more pessimistic view than I do, but we will likely see what happens as year end approaches when the tourist season is over, energy imports increase and balance of payments issue rears up in greater intensity (esp with more forex insurance payout with fiscal situation as it is already).

Simsek wont change anything as long as the Central Bank is not independent and he knows that.
Either concessions were made or Simsek lost his mind and will lose his reputation too.

I think that's not the detail here. It would be more accurate to look at Simsek's roots and affiliations. RTE had accused KK of making deals with British loan sharks for 3 months, but he seems to be turning in the same direction.

"They have dollars, we have Allah" is an example pinnacle madness that political Islam presents. We turned into a nation of cheap slogans and fairy tales. Important details and policies no longer matters. As long as we have good fairy tales to put the children to bed at night everything is ok.

Instead of cold hard facts and policies over how to correct the economy, we get sloguns of "we are on the way to full independence". A statement that has no substance whatsoever and diverts from real problems that need to be addressed.

But like the saying goes the people get the government they deserve.

I feel for the people of Turkiye suffering under this madness, but the western Turks living a western lifestyle voting for their Islam friendly leftist LGBTQ promoting parties who want this madness for the Turkish people are disgraceful.

Of all the AK party affiliates, the two that most represent the anglo-american establishment is Ali Babacan and Mehmet Simsek. These guys push and work towards the interests of the UK and US within Turkiye.

If we are talking about the Turkic world and Eurasia in the new era, and if RTE is sincere in this, Oğan should be in charge of the economy. He is well-equipped for this, in fact, if we look at other examples, he is more than qualified for this job. It will not have a negative reflection on the markets due to both its national line and its balanced discourse on economic management.

I don’t know about other entities but isn’t Turkish Airlines the most successful state asset? Why would he want to sell it?

THY is already in the stock market, and you want to sell something when its value is high. IIRC government had bought some stock of THY back from the stock market long time ago.

After all the smack talk about IMF, he would rather pick clean all Turkish assets to sell to the highest bidder than asking money from IMF.

Mehmet Şimşek is the new boss of the Turkish economy. He is given assurances that he will have autonomy and will be able to install his own team.
